Yeah, but they say money can't buy happiness, only stress. I'd rather be poor and happy than rich and stressed

Your statement is very much true in a way that there should be balance in everything.

Brunei: small, wealthy economy is a mixture of foreign and domestic entrepreneurship, government regulation, welfare measures, and village tradition. Crude oil and natural gas production account for nearly half of its GDP. Substantial income from overseas investment supplements income from domestic production. The government provides for all medical services and subsidizes rice and housing. Brunei's leaders are concerned that steadily increased integration in the world economy will undermine internal social cohesion although it became a more prominent player by serving as chairman for the 2000 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum. Stated plans for the future include upgrading the labour force, reducing unemployment, strengthening the banking and tourism sectors, and, in general, further widening the economic base. The national airline, Royal Brunei, is trying to make Brunei a hub for international travel between Europe and Australia/New Zealand, and also has services to major Asian destinations.

Healthcare

All Brunei citizens have access to free healthcare from public hospitals.

RKHenry, I don't believe they have poverty because the population is not that big, plus the national income is relatively high.

Dear jjrubio, I don't know an answer to your question, but I know one thing: we will be all contained in a small tomb. We are all alike.

jjrubio  says:

I have to agree.... Pharoahs, Kings and Sultans alike have all been buried as the common people "from dust you came and dust you shall return" unto SHEOL we go...the grave.

Several people have already responded with this word, but I am going to add another WOW! The photos are wonderful and add to your descriptions of the almost unbelievable riches this man enjoys. I also echo the person that said...he could help feed the world if he was so inclined. So much good could be done with that kind of wealth!

Really informative hub, shamelabboush.
