The people that I have come across in Bulgaria have been wonderful,they are mostly poor and they work very hard to make end's meet , but if you need help with anything, and when your in a foriegn land you usually do need some kind of assistance,even if it's only direction's,they seem to go out of their way to help,even if they don't know english they will telephone someone who does, to help out ,this happen's to us on a regular basis (I am not good with maps) I have walked around Yambol with a group of youth's about 17 or 18 year old's that were showing me the way to a mobile phone shop and I felt perfectly safe with them they were polite and happy to show me the way,( I definetly would not have done this in the uk .) I have had gift's from my neighbour's these consisted of homemade yoghurt which was wonderful , a boquet of flower's and a tortoise(apparently to eat the weed's in my garden when we aren't there to dig them up.) On a whole these people are good honest hardworking people who welcome you into their country . I have added a few photo,s of bugaria so please take a look.

Thats beautiful, glad to know about Bulgarians, can't say the same thing here in North Carolina, US, usually they will say don't know or don't care. Nice pictures.

That what you say is so sux im from Bulgaria and ppl is not that so poor what you say.And yes we work hard but no for food to end we work hard becouse you are no lazzy ppl whit other in other country. Go look reall situation no that what you wanna see pffffffffffff

I do not agree. The Bulgarian spirit is generally negative and pessimistic. In my personal opinion, most seek to discourage any success in others because of their envy or shortcomings.

Borg I am bulgarian and proud of it. I suspect you are the one that is envious of others.Do not blame your own downfalls on a whole nation it is quite ignorant.

One other thing we are not poor . Certainly not more or less than any other country with wide spectrum of all society classes. We work hard because we are not lazy and because we want to achieve higher and better things in life. It is a bulgarian trait to be hospitable and to help those in need. We consider it a virtue. But do not mistake our goodness with flattery as we are very proud people and we do not like to be pitied.

I visited Bulgaria recently and i do agree they are very friendly and nice I would love to live there. I have visited many countries and Bulgaria tops the list when it come to people.
