The Fool reversed
60Here I am, about to start something again. About to.
It seems like I've spent a lot of time in my life being "about to" do something. In this particular case, it was writing my very first HubPages.com article. I--who can rarely get my mind to shut up when I need to do useful things like concentrate or sleep--suddenly had nothing to share. Crickets were sounding in the imaginary field in my head.
I wish I could say it was writer's block, but it wasn't any sort of creative lapse. It was the pause at the threshold that I have all too often. I'd recently dubbed this as my Fool Reversed moment. The Fool is the 0 card of the Tarot--it's the place of all beginnings where there is nothing but possiblility. Reversed, it's having that chance to start and instead saying, "Yeah, but...."
Imagine if Luke Skywalker had listened to his uncle, sold the droids, and accepted life on the farm. The choice to meet his destiny was at hand and his uncle was the little voice in head saying, "Yeah, but..."
We all have that choice, and I've listened to that little voice all to often, not realizing until it was too late that I'd walked away from a greater destiny. So this is me leaving that voice behind and taking the first step.
