The Wii

The Wii is the seventh generation game console released by Nintendo. It is famous for the Wiimote, a wireless TV remote that can be used with a Nunchuk extension controller and detect motion in three demensions designed for the Wii, and WiiConnect24, which allows the Wii to receive updates and signals via the Internet whil in standby mode. The Wii is also backward compatible with the Nintendo GameCube, but must use a GameCube controller to play these games.


Wii Menu

The Wii Menu is a collection of every "channel" downloaded on the Wii. The primary channels are: Disc Channel, Mii Channel, Photo Channel, Wii Shop Channel, Forecast Channel, News Channel, WiiConnect24 Channel, Internet Channel, and Everybody Votes Channel.

Disc Channel

Every disc inserted into the Wii is accessed using this channel. This includes Wii games and GameCube games.

Mii Channel

Allows you to create your Mii, a sprite of yourself in the Wii

Photo Channel

Allows you to access photos downloaded onto your Wii

Wii Shop Channel

Allows you to download the Everybody Votes and Internet Channels, and allows you to purchase games previously for older Nintendo consoles via Wii Points and download them onto your Wii.

Internet Channel

Surf the net! Update: Internet Channel now costs 500 Wii Points to download.

Everybody Votes Channel

Vote on random subjects! One vote per Mii.

There are also many other channels you can use with the Wii. In fact, there are too many to list here!! Update: Every new channel that came out after the Everybody Votes Channel Makes you delete all of your save data to download it. Sorry Folks!
