61
A 100 year old Chinese man says smoking and drinking are the reasons for his longevity.
Mr. Zhang Shuqing turned 100 years old in Pixian, Sichuan, China. He claims the secret for his longevity is smoking every day and drinking liquor after every meal.
His daughter died recently and is living currently with his nephew Zhang Chenggui. Mr. Zhang Shuqing said he started smoking and drinking strong liquor at a very young age in his 20s and has never stopped. His grandson Xu said his grandfather must have consumed 15 tons of liquor and more than a ton of tobacco in his lifetime. China has Moatai which is a very strong drink has more than 80% alcohol, wonder he drank that am not sure, but they didn’t have beer until later. It seems Mr. Zhang who is in excellent health has a good appetite and eats a standard meal of two chicken legs, a bowl of steamed pork fat and glutinous rice, vegetables and fruit. He also eats very quickly in less than twenty minutes. This diet also must be of help to him to live long. Just because Mr. Zhang lived by smoking and drinking, don’t try this at home; there are a number of factors for good health not just cigarettes and alcohol.Ref: http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2007-05/21/content_877131.htm

Don't rely on just one man's case, I think there are number of factors involved, he was lucky, but not everyone is. Good healthy diet, exercise will help a lot.
That's unbelievable!
Maybe he's just lucky....!
He must have had a calm and sedate life with no worries in his village, also he must have taken Green tea and other healthy stuff the article doesn't talk about.
hmm, now here's something that has gone against everything we have been told. lol, I'll give anything a go :)
I also have been preaching smoking is bad to everyone, now I am speechless :)
Yes, I would say the key to this man's longevity is PURE LUCK. :-)

Shucks I just gave up! I mean smoking, so if I keep up with the alcohol, you think I would reach the halfway mark?
