Parking websites has its pros and cons just like everything else. Parking websites are great if you have registered domain names that are not being used, or have the infamous ‘Under Construction’ line. Parking domains are really simple to set up, and bring you in a small cash flow that you didn’t have before.

You get to pick what the template, colors and mainly, what the keywords are for each individual site. The keywords are what bring in the money. For instance, the keyword ‘wealth’ brings in about $2.34 a click. Not to much, but better then the pennies that Adsense brings you per click. But then again, the old saying ‘Power in numbers’ really applies to parking websites.

If you have even 10 websites set up and parked, you can make enough money to cover all of your domain expenses, and make a little pocket change. If each domain only makes 5 cents a day, that is $180 dollars a year! And think if you have 100 domains registered, and they all make a dollar a day minimum. I have made up a chart of what a website(s) would make, and how much the hosting costs are expected to be.

There really is money in parking websites, all you have to do is register a few good domain names, and make sure they have good templates and keywords. There are a few big websites that park domains, and I highly recommend Sedo.com

They have a fairly low payout rate of $20 and send you the money you earn through Paypal, or check. The free account comes with a wide array of pictures, and the templates make it easy to optimize your site for content.

* 10 Websites at .50/1.00 a day - $1,800/3,200 dollars!

* 25 Websites at .50/1.00 a day - $4,500/9,000 dollars!

* 100 Websites at .50/1.00 a day - $18,000/32,000 dollars!

Its amazing what you can earn by parking a website with Sedo.com

There is a technique best described by Professor William Lorenz, originator of the term "domain-doping", that may be of interest to ( prospective ) domaineers: Domain-doping: The practice of acquiring or purchasing links and/or Internet traffic for a domain name in order to increase it's search engine visability, ranking or popularity thus increasing its value at sale or for domain parking. The domaineer increased his domain parking monetization rate by domain-doping.

Before domain doping, check to see if it is allowed under the domain parking company's TOS. Some may allow it, some may not. Can also see more at http://www.domain-registration.biz or http://www.InternetTrafficHits.com on this subject.

Domaineering or "domain engineering" ( i.e., the crafting or designing a domain name for use in Internet marketing ), is quite different from the acquiring of domains as virtual Internet real estate for speculation that traditional domaining involves. Successful domaineering requires creativity, a good understanding search engine optimization ( SEO ) techniques, intellectual property laws and market research. It’s a niche area of web marketing that’s not well understood although gaining in prominence. True domaineers do not like to be called domainers because domaineers are marketing professionals not domain speculators. For more information about domain parking / domain monetization for fun and profit check out the http://www.Domaineering.org website.

Domaineering is the online marketing business of acquiring and monetizing Internet domain names for their use primarily as an advertising medium rather than as intellectual property investments for resale as in domaining. In essence, the domain names function as virtual Internet billboards with generic domain names being highly valued for their revenue generating potential derived from attracting Internet traffic hits. As with traditional advertising, domaineering is part art and part science. Often to be the most effective as advertising tools, the domain names and their corresponding landing pages must be engineered or optimized to produce maximum revenue which may require considerable skill and good knowledge of search engine optimization ( SEO ) practices, marketing psychology and an understanding of the target market audience. Domaineering generally utilizes a firm offering domain parking services to provide the sponsored "feed" of a word or phrase searched for. Occasionally content is added to develop a functional mini-website. Domaineers and some of those who advertise online using keywords believe domaineering provides a useful, legal and legitimate Internet marketing service while opponents of domaineering decry the practice as increasing the ubiquitous commercialization of the world wide web. Domaineering is practiced by both large companies who may have registered hundreds or even thousands of domains to individual entrepreneurial minded domaineers who may only own one or a few.
