Surrounded double lake and in hundreds acres of a flat marshy wood of a willow, castle Caerlaverock has been constructed to operate the Southwest input to Scotland which during former times was a weak spot of the Scottish kingdom. Construction of the Castle began in approximately 1277, and 1300 building has been besieged by Edward I.

During hundred years Caerlaverock was indestructible, it has reflected more than 30 English obsidional legions and has been recognized as the most strong castle to which no obsidional instruments of English king are terrible... Externally it looks as a board, under the form has three parties, with a tower in each corner... To the south from him Irish sea, to the West and on the north a heathland surrounded with a narrow sea gulf. On east party almost impassable woods, channels running into the sea and deep bogs covered green, as a grass, a coverlet.
