In 2000, my now husband began having alot of nausea, and bloating, turning yellow, blood in his urine. We took him to the doctor and they ran blood tests. It turned out his liver enzymes were high. From there we found out that was because he had Hep C. When he told me, I dropped to my knees. My whole world fell apart. I can only imagine how he felt. He began the Interferon and Riboviron treatment. 1 shot a week and 6 pills a day. He did that for 3 months. Then his mouth started getting blisters in it, all over his tomgue and throat. They took him off the treatment. During this time, he began taking Milk Thistle, it's good for your liver. It heals it. A year later, he they ran blood tests again, they couldn't find the disease. It's an awful thing, the disease. It will take you right down in a heartbeat.

i WAS health care worker for 17yrs my job was being a scrub tech and first asst. back in the early day,s [istarted in 1988 they offered us little protection becauce hiv was on the rise and that was the big concern for health care workers little did they no that hep c is to a blood born patagen but lives a lot longer in 02 than hiv there needs to be a lot more attinion brought up about hepc [excise my spelling]I hear differfront persentige rates every day for instants I think I was cut or sparyed in the eyes with a pts. blood 15 or 17 yrs ago or the people that work on hospital equitment that is not cleaned properly then a worker with a cut or scatch uses this and now is enffected with this night mare I had few or no systom,s until 3yrs ago [hey wheres our braclets like breast cancer survirers they take themselfs very sereious beleve me this has reach an all level high I am a 50yr old grandmother who will not get to see my grandchhildren reach adulthood i think it,s like aids was in the beginning no one what,s to talk about death but i have been given a death sentence but if I could spare one person from this I would I am now suffering a lot of the effects of this [joint prombles very painful muscle spasums upper abd. pain no energy which is a joke I raised 4 children alone worked more than one job and loved it I was a very enterjieic women and would be if I didn,t have hepc so the ? now is what do we do about it we need to come out of the closet most health care workers are scarded of losing there job,s some people might say I don,t my kid,s around them they are hepc pos If there is anyone out there who feels this way let me hear what you have to say Thank you for listening,ckcalcote@aol.com

I have hep c i'm drained of everything in my body i'm swolled twice my size i haven't started my treatments yet they say i have to see a syc but i'm feel so bad it's hard to go anywere i have alot of pain can you tell what to do...Thank you. marsha
