As I stand on the edge of the cliff, I am amazed at the spectacular view. I came prepared to do this today and I will not turn back. Nothing too fancy, I only wore a pair of blue jeans and a tee shirt.

I close my eyes and outstretch my arms like that of an angel. I begin to breathe in all of my surroundings. The gentle breeze dances on my ear as I hear the sound of birds singing a beautiful song in a distance.

There is a sweet smell of flowers in the air. It reminds me of childhood days playing in my grandmother’s yard. In the midst of all the calmness, I can hear my heartbeat.

Thump, Thump, Thump.

My heart is racing like the sound of a horses feet running in a pasture. As all of my muscles begin to tense up, I try to relax.

“You can do this, it is time.” I tell myself.

I begin to take slow, deep breaths to slow down my heart rate. As I open my eyes and look down, I begin to tremble as fear takes over all of my senses.

“Don’t be afraid.” I convince myself.

I close my eyes and get back into “Flying” position.

“Just do it now and get it over with!” I scream at myself.

Then, I suddenly begin to fall forward. Although it happens so fast, it feels so surreal. As everything goes into slow motion, I take in all that is happening. There is a great sense of freedom as the wind pushes up against my falling body. I forget about all of my problems as I propel from the humongous cliff.

I open my eyes and take in the beauty all around me. My heart is racing as my adrenaline is rushing.

As I am falling, I can see that I am approaching the final destiny. I can see the ground coming at me fast. I am no longer afraid as I have faced my fear.

As I prepare myself to hit the ground, I close my eyes again and my bungee cord pulls me up to where I just hang and dangle in the air.

“What an amazing experience!” I think to myself.

I finally managed to make the jump.

Um... Oh, man, my fear of heights hit me full-on!! Did you really do this? It sure feels like it! You are braver than I!!

Wow you have my admiration I could never do that, my fear not only of heights but fear of falling of bursting blood vessels, heart attacks and the bungee breaking all these would stop me. Though I must admit it looks like it is a real adrenalin high and a fun thing to do that is if you’re not a scaredy cat like me.

what a nice "vision" the way you described the feelings and the "rush." I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself ; My bestfriend is always jumping out of planes....Wonder if it feels the same? GPAGE

I have no desire to bungee jump, but some day I would love to go sky diving.
