Since I'm Hawaiian our Luau comes First

We are going to start with our Decorations. To the right are pictures of some ideas and on the bottom is a link to where you can buy them for real cheap :)

You don't have to have something as a favor but its nice for your friends to take something home to remember the night by along with pictures! For my Luau i gave everyone a lei, real cheap frm Walmart. OK, So some ideas for Luau party favors:

• Flower Leis

Tiki Torches and Blow up dolls like monkeys are a Favorite of mine! Their cheap and fun for everyone. Whether your having the fun in the back yard or in the living room the plug in tiki lights to the right are perfect for the atmosphere. Hawaiian print table cloths are excellent not just for this party but for later on in the year when you have family over. I personally have the quilted one which Ive had for 2 years its beautiful and everyone always compliments me on it.

 So what are we going to eat for this Luau your asking??

MANAPUA
(Two parts)

Basic yeast dough
-----------------

Ingredients:

5-6 cups flour
1/4 cups sugar
1-3/4 cups warm water
2 T shortening
1 T yeast

Procedure:
Dissolve yeast in water. Add sugar and shortening. Mix in enough
flour to make a fairly stiff dough. Knead until smooth. Cover and
let rise in warm place for 2-4 hours until double.

Manapua

Ingredients:

1 lb char siu
1 recipe basic yeast dough

Procedure:
Chop char siu into small pieces. Divide dough into 24 pieces, then
flatten with palm of hand. Place one portion filling in middle of
dough circle. Pleat edges of circle and press firmly; pleat entire
circle in this fashion. Wrap up entire circle and press all edges
together to close. Place filled buns on squares of paper and let rise
10 minutes. Arrange buns in a steamer 1/2 inch apart and steam 15-18
minutes over high heat; remove and serve.
