Here is a brief summary of religion, containing the first principles of faith and obedience.

Jehovah our God is the only living and true God; He only is God, and He is but One God. Let us not desire to have any other. The three-fold mention of the Divine names, and the plural number of the word translated God, seem plainly to intimate a Trinity of persons, even in this express declaration of the unity of the Godhead. Happy those who have this one Lord for their God. It is better to have one fountain than a thousand cisterns; one all-sufficient God than a thousand insufficient friends. This is the first and great commandment of God's law, that we love Him; and that we do all parts of our duty to Him from a principle of love; My son, give me thine heart. We are to love God with all our heart, and soul, and might. That is:

• With a sincere love; not in word and tongue only, but inwardly in truth
• With a strong love. He that is our All, must have our all, and none but He
• With a superlative love; we must love God above any creature whatever, and love nothing but what we love for Him
• With an intelligent love. To love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, we must see good cause to love Him
• With an entire love; He is ONE, our hearts must be united in His love. Oh that this love of God may be shed abroad in our hearts!

Shema Yisrael

The first, pivotal, words of the Shema are:

שמע ישראל יהוה אלהינו יהוה אחד

Judaism teaches that the Tetragrammaton (י-ה-ו-ה) is the ineffable name of God, and as such is not read aloud in the Shema but is traditionally replaced with אדני, Adonai ("our Lord"). For this reason, the Shema is recited aloud as:

Shema Yisrael Adonai Eloheinu Adonai Echad

The literal word meanings are roughly as follows:

Shema — listen, or hear (according to the Targum, accept)

Yisrael — Israel, in the sense of the people or congregation of Israel

Adonai — often translated as "Lord", it is read in place of the Tetragrammaton

Elohenu — our God, the word "El" or "Eloh" signifying God (see also: Elohim), and the plural possessive determiner suffix "-nu" or "-enu" signifying "our"

Echad — the Hebrew word for the number 1

Ge 11:1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. (And one religion or one belief)

The Qur'an describes many Biblical prophets and messengers as Muslim: Adam, Noah (Arabic: Nuh), Moses and Jesus and his apostles. The Qur'an states that these men were Muslims because they submitted to God, preached his message and upheld his values. Thus, in Surah 3:52 of the Qur'an, Jesus’ disciples tell Jesus, "We believe in God; and you be our witness that we submit and obey (wa ashahadu bil-muslimūna)."

Islam was only founded in 622AD. Many of your religions today were founded many years after the death of our Lord Jesus Christ. They all acknowledge Him as the Son of God but cannot accept Him as God as it beyond all human logic.

At the time of the Tower of Babel all man spoke one langauge. All understood one langauge. They attempted to reach God by being disobedient to His cause in their trying to build the tower higher that the the clouds. They wanted to see His face.

God dispursed them at that time and according to the time lines many religions were born.

We do only have one God. It depends on where you choose to give Him praise and glory. I choose the Roman Catholic Church. It does not mean that because I go the Catholic Church I have to believe and practise their ways. I was brought up in the Catholic Church. I have strong roots there. But I also only believe in praying to and praising the true God, Jesus Christ, God in the flesh.

Although we believe in one God, the word Elohim is plural. This is the approach to the word God being plural. Hinduism believe in many gods. Unless their God is the same as the one I believe in, I will only believe in MY GOD. The true deity of three in one, Father - Son and Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:26-28 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. The Christian doctrine of the Trinity teaches the unity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as three persons in one Godhead. The doctrine states that God is the Triune God, existing as three persons, or in the Greek hypostases, but one being. Each of the persons is understood as having the one identical essence or nature, not merely similar natures. Since the beginning of the third century the doctrine of the Trinity has been stated as "the one God exists in three Persons and one substance, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit." No matter how you look at God He is only one. When a religion states that God is not a Triune God or that only Jesus existed we have a deviation of the truth. This is no longer a religion that has God as its head but we aknowledge the religion as an Occult or Cult. When religions deviate entirely from the truth we no longer have the teachings God wanted us to have and we are being lead astray.

To the layman in the street God is a greator being or the Creator. He is to be loved beyond all expectation. He is to honoured, glorified and praised. We must give toward His works and Go out to make desciples on behalf of Him. We meet Him every Lords day to celebrate His existance, rising from the dead and share in his flesh and blood. We are there to receive His blessings for the week ahead of us. We are to bring up our children in the faith. He is the same God who gave us life and will be the same God who will await his faithful servants when the pass on.

You are right, there are many religions. But there is only one God.
