4am, busy customizing 6 sites. Yes, 6 sites, all at once. You see Ive been experimenting and learning new features in the Thesis Theme framework on Wordpress. Pulling my hair out, so I had to take a small break and output some information Ive gathered. Otherwise, certain brain overload is imminent.

If you are a serious web developer, or on the opposite end of the spectrum a novice developer, but a serious internet marketer and writer, than in my experience you should be using Thesis on a Wordpress powered site.

Why?

Well you could just install Wordpress on your site and then use any one of the awesome free themes available on the net. But if you are writing, selling in any market/niche that is competitive and you want exposure, eventually some organic traffic then you better make sure you have your site properly optimized, and you might as well start off optimized.

But I want to write! I want to market, I dont want to fool around with SEO (thats what I say in retrospect!)

Sure, with the right plug-ins and customizations wordpress can be an SEO monster.

• change permalinks from default option
• install All in One SEO plug in
• install XML Google sitemaps
• be sure to set archives to "no follow"
• use parent and child categories

Well at least thats a good start...dont know what that means, or dont care learn or install and find and update all these plug-ins?

Well me neither,I already had to learn (how boring!) but if I had known about Thesis, I would have just been able to write, create and manage my affialiate and niche sites!

But it costs $87.00...who cares, have fun installing 10 plugins just to begin to reach the out of box seo friendly features of the framework

Thesis is incredibly customizable, if you can imagine it It can be done. In my case, thats a problem, you see "content is still king." All the time I spend creating that perfect header, or adding custom icons, social networking buttons, etc. is not going to draw any more visitors to my sites! My time is better spent in most cases.

No code- just install and activate.

Now a days I really suggest using Wordpress, as it is the easiest method for managing content and maximizing SEO

What do all these acronyms mean?

Since I like the "one click install" ..I like webhosts with Fantastico

So HostGator gets my vote - unlimited sub-domains and a one click wordpress install and a carbon-neutral "green" status

I use many plugins - WP Stats, XML sitemaps, Google custom search, Akismet, Advertsing Manager are must haves

Actually learning html php and css will greatly improve your efficiency and productivity.

If your really hoping to continue on the web as a marketer or promoter of your writings, dont listen to all these coaches and gurus.

Everything you need is free in teh open source community BUT acquire the knowledge so that you can properly utilize it.

Hell, than you can sell your skills to the intelectually lazy...im not gonna pretend like its all fun though, because its not.
