They Call Me Fiery CJ: A Rant About Murder
57
He had just walked out of the Luis Vuitton boutique in the fashion boulevard in Los Angeles. He had a blue scarf covering his mouth, feeling so damn fly. And he really was too. The evening breeze threw back his long black leather jacket. He walks in slow motion, as his every step is amplified by the ethereal sounds of Excess by Tricky playing in his head.
The limo pulled up in front of him, and the crazy looking dude stepped out of it. The dude was packing heat. And he knew it, but he still wouldn't make a move to run for it. He knew the crazy looking dude was quite capable of blowing his brains out. Right in the middle of the boulevard, too. The guy's nuts, and it wouldn't be the first time he did a dumb thing like that. But Fiery CJ was thru running from his crazy alter-ego.
"So where ya been, mack?" his alter-ego began. "Been looking all over the damn city for you? Where ya been, mack?" Those were two annoying habits his alter-ego had - calling him mack, and always repeating questions.
"I've been around" Fiery CJ mumbled.
"To hell with that bull...hey, you get in the car. We've got business!" Getting in the car with his crazy alter-ego was the last thing Fiery CJ wanted to do. But he wasn't about to let him make a crazy scene - he is well capable of that. So CJ got in.
The limo rode softly. Like 10 miles an hour. Suddenly it seemed like the busy traffic of LA had vanished all around them. His alter-ego could freeze the world - he really could.
The alter-ego broke the ice "So Allie, we been looking for this crazy son-of-a-gun all over the damn city, and we finally wind up finding him in a frigging LV shop! Can you believe that piece of crap!" Allie is the killer of the gang. The guy's been in and out of jail ever since he was sixteen. As a seventeen year old, he had popped a guy's jaw wide-open with a baseball bat. The guy was a social worker. Now Allie does all the dirty work for CJ's alter ego - you know, the usual collecting and disposal. Allie didnt laugh a lot either, but he thought finding me in a boutique was hilarious. He still didnt laugh, though. He just said, "Hey, you turning into a sissy or what, Fiery?" this cracked my alter-ego up, but beneath the laughter I could sense his eyes demanded that I defend such an accusation. In our business, you just dont let a guy call you a sissy. It shows weakness. And as much as I was sick of the business, I wasn't about to let Allie bitchify me right in front of my alter-ego. I still wasn't beyond being popped, even in the luxurious leather interior of the limo. "What are you, Allie? An expert on sissies?" I retorted. You had to see my alter-ego, bawling over in laughter. Allie simply growled and began cutting a cigar. He was always doing phony macho stuff like cutting cigars.
I turned to face my alter-ego, he was still wiping away trinkles of tears from the throes of laughter. "Hey, what business we got?"
Suddenly my alter-ego was all business. It never ceased to amaze me how he could easily transform his demeanor like the switch of a lightbulb. "You'll see when we get there" he stared at me coolly, studying the hell outta me. Allie too.
It seemed like we would never reach our destination. Within the wide interior of the limo - I suddenly started feeling claustrophobic...

Interesting read and you feature in it. I like the way you come up with new unique words these days. "bitchify"?. Lol. Whatchamaculthat? :)
oh do finish it, please dont make it very gruesome though... x
Thanks Lady_E. I like to play around with words that I read about. Glad you enjoyed it.
Brenda, since you asked...but I cant make any promises though...x
Great concept. You have a great grasp on the details. I like the "slow motion" aspects. Very visual.
Luv the whole alter-ego thing. Keep this going. I definitely will read. Great job.
"Yeah, see, yeah..." Have you ever seen Key Largo with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall? Well, the villain in the movie talks just like that. The alter ego aspect is pretty funny and works well. Keep it up fierycj. Hubbers seem only to read you if they like you...Apparently, we like you a lot!!!
Hey Davi...thanks. I knew you would notice the slow mo thingy. we think alike, gurl!
Irohner...appreciate you dropping in. I'll keep it going for you, dear.
Hey dohn, welcome again...I once an old Humphrey Bogart movie, and I get that vibe you're talking about in the dialogues, especially by the villains. But I wasnt thinking about any of that, though. I'm glad you guys like me. and you know what...the feeling's mutual!
Of Course We Love You Why Wouldn't We..... Is it hot in Nigeria today, pretty hot in Ireland I can tell you...
Quite hot...but we're still getting a lot of rain. Extreme sunshine and extreme rain!
Interesting dialogue. Glad I started with part one. This does sound like the start of a screenplay.
@Peggy W. Glad to have you in here, Peggy. I think it would make a good film, too.
I really like this. Is this a series?
my favorite part is " I wasn't about to let Allie bitchify me right in front of my alter-ego. I still wasn't beyond being popped, even in the luxurious leather interior of the limo."
Hey, my man Drew, thanks for dropping in, man. It is a series, but here's the madman stuff - I dont even know how the hell is gonna end. No kidding. I'm basically freestyling on it. Glad you liked that line. Thank, again.
Well written. Actually it has left me anticipating the second rant.
But hey cj, lets make this into a movie...starring me ofcourse and you running the directing thing.
Thanks da-newton. You any good in acting? Meet me at the audition. Lol.
You mean, this is the screenplay you are writing right now? (I'm reading this because you sent me here from the double-story hub).
Are you going for a full fledged story, traditional type, or some mysterious short film with bizarre scenes and a riddle-like end?
Your mind is so filled with images, I'm really curious to see the end result ... your first film.
Keep on with it Fiery!
No Rosa. This isn't the screenplay. Just a story I'm messing around with in my heard. Have you read the 2nd Rant? My screenplay is a completely different story, its a ghost story, somewhat, with a sucker-punch ending. Will keep you informed. Thanks a mil.
O great, I like ghost stories very much. I've seen some Japanese and Chinese ghost films really amazing, for them it's a different vision, because they accept the truth of the existence of ghosts. In the West there is a general ignorance about the subject, and a suspicion about the people who talk seriously about it.
Speaking of which, did you see "The Others" with Nicole Kidman? If not, you have to watch it, it's the ultimate ghost story film, very subtle.
Yes, Rosa, I've seen The Others. Directed by Alejandro Amenabar. Brilliant, and yes subtle. I'm playing on subtle too in my movie. :)

The above is just a concept that fell into my head the other day; I've been messing around with it, and I think if people like it, I might just finish it, Who knows.
