Here are the Donalds’, (Donald Trumps) top 7 strategies for thinking like a billionaire:

1). Don’t take vacations. According to Donald Trump, if you don’t enjoy your career you’re doing the wrong work. He never stops working. Even when he’s playing golf, he’s still working and having a lot of fun. And he’s not the only one not taking any vacations. Jay Leno never takes a vacation either; maybe that’s why he’s continued to remain the king of the late-night ratings.

2). Have a short attention span—this is a common trait among successful people. Many times Donald will be having a conversation and know what the next forty words will be after hearing the first three, so he will try to speed up the pace. He found he could accomplish things more quickly this way.

3). Don’t sleep anymore than you have to. Donald gets by on only 4 hours each night. He goes to bed at 1am and is up at 5am to read newspapers. He claims that’s all the sleep he needs and says it gives him a competitive edge.

4). Don’t depend on technology. Believe it or not, Donald Trump, the real estate mogul doesn’t own an ATM card and he never used one in his life. Nor does he have a computer sitting on his desk at work. And what does he do if he wants an intercom? He simply yells. He says it works much better and is a lot faster.

The convenience of ATM cards makes sense to him, but he sees many other tech gadgets “unimportant and impeding human contact. He says, “If you have something important to say, look the person in the eye and say it. And if you can’t get there, pick up the phone and make sure they hear the sincerity in your voice. E-mail is for wimps.”

5). Think of yourself as a one-man army. You aren’t just the commander and chief; you’re a soldier.

You must plan your work and work your plan alone. Business is constantly used as an analogy to sports and war, not because of the toughness, but because it’s something we can instantly relate to. In business, it’s a much greater asset to be smart, than tough. Donald knows some barbarously tough business people who aren’t smart and are lousy in business.

6). It’s often to your advantage to be underestimated.

Don’t lead people to believe you are a loser, but it gives you an advantage if people don’t think you are the brightest person on the block. Ever since The Donald wrote The Art of the Deal, people are always cautious anytime they negotiate with him.

7). Success breeds success. What’s the absolute best way to impress people in the business world? One word, RESULTS! That’s why Donald Trump can do so many deals easier today. If you haven’t had any success, then you need to create the appearance of success. Get something started and build from there.

One way Donald Trump learned to expand his perspective was by working on The Apprentice. He got a chance to see how the networks really operate. He learned that it’s critical that a network has really high ratings on Thursdays because that’s the day the movies are advertised for weekend releases.
