.the scream of a teakettle woke me
a snippet of conversation reminded me that a teapot
and a teakettle are not the same thing
Not when you live in England apparently
But the British know their tea so who am I to argue

I long to be in love
I miss the giddyness of it
the mad desire to run through a fountain
at midnight
naked
I still have the relationship
but now it's more like arguments over who took out the trash last
or who left their junk piled in the hallway
becoming a churlish nag wasn't really my goal here
I just wanted to be in love and be a lover
for as long as I could make that last

his idea of a big date is a trip to the farmer's market to get
cilantro and strange varieties of lettuce
what happened to long walks on the beach
and visiting hole in the wall restaurants?

I long to be in love. So true to us all...

lovely, poetic muse.

I loved this line: "becoming a churlish nag wasn't really my goal here" and I'm certainly familiar with people who act in ways that bring out the utter worst me and shut down all the ways in which I like myself best.  I think we've all had our share of these people.

I loved your poem but I do have to say cilantro shopping would make my 'fun with partner' list.  I am in a huge gardening phase right now and I actually have some cilantro, lettuce and much much more growing. I'm quite passionate about it.  hehe.

I think I will spend one day only doing things not because I have to, but because I want to. Gardening should be fun.

Well nothing is fun when you feel like you have to, so I understand. The love for gardening is all over me though. I have lettuce, green pepper, onion, radish, carrots, tomato small and large, cucumber, zuchini, sugarbaby watermelon, corn, okra and about 6 kinds of hot peppers and a bunch of herbs.

I harvested a single radish so far, and a banana pepper. I'm having so much fun. I hope you start really enjoying your garden soon, I wish you could see mine.

Great poem, minus the Google ad that mounted your lovely hub almost as soon as it opened. True love remains, when all else is gone, but I'm losin' love for the way Google's got stuff plastered over the last couple of words in each line. I wonder if it can be "fixed."

christianesk, thanks for letting me know. It should be easier to read now.
