One popular search being made on the internet is “how to make money”. This article is clearly written to provide answers to the hub “How to make money from a website- Proven success of internet business”

The first requirement is for you to have a website

The website must be owned by you. Don’t go and get a free website. In most cases, you don’t have control over a free website.

To get a website, you will need a webmaster that will build and maintain a website for you. You can also train yourself to know the basics of website designing using software like dreamweaver. It’s important you know some few stuffs, very important. This is ideal if you want to do some quick and fast editing on the website.

Determine the purpose of the website

Is it going to be a shopping website, dating sites, news portal, blogging, game sites e.t.c.? The purpose of the website largely determines how you can make money on the website.

Having carved a niche of purpose, the next thing is how to harness the website into money yielding internet business.

a) Monetizing the Website

Monetizing the website means creating an avenue for making money on your site. In this context, I will talk about Google Adsense, affiliate marketing programme and sourcing of corporate advertisements and sponsors.

Google Adsense and Affiliate Marketing Programmes

You can partner your website with Google. To do this, sign up for adsense, once you are accepted, you will be given some codes to insert into your website. Anytime a visitor clicks on the ad, you will be paid.

The second means is to be an affiliate marketer. This is simply promoting people’s product on your website. You can be making as much as $1,000 every month with this programme. Partner with sites like eBay, Amazon, 1and1 e.t.c.

This is en excellent means of getting a second stream of income.

Sourcing for Corporate Sponsors and Advertisements

This is where the big money rolls in. though, getting corporate sponsors and advertisers is not easy, but you have to be courageous, bold and be highly determined to get this.

Put your website in proper order and arrangement. Give it a corporate look, make sure your links are working very well i.e no broken links. After this, write to corporate organizations that you know/think will be interested in what your website offers. Out of at least 100 of these organizations, 10 of them will accede to your request. You just have to be an optimist to get a breakthrough with this.

Voluntary Organizations

This works best if your website is all about humanitarian services. Being a non governmental organization works best for a development like this. This principle is being applied by Wikipedia.

To do this, make sure your organization is not a profit oriented organization and that its an NGO.
