Thriller Dance An International Youtube Hit

Back in the 80s Michael Jackson was the ultimate cool and all the cool kids knew the Thriller Dance. Twenty some years into the future these same kids attempt to relive those thriller moments often to the chagrin of gen-y copy cats and critical baby boomers (no offense all). Gen-X is, hands down, the most fun generation since the fifties.

Meet the cast-A very enthusiastic male lead who probably isn't very good at dancing unless it comes to the Thriller Dance then he transforms ; as if my magic; into someone without two left feet, a woman in a white dress often peering over her shoulder at the lead dancer for cues, a woman dressed in red who knows the thriller dance by heart so she doesn't need to peer over her shoulder at the lead dancer for dance cues, and an ensemble of various backup dancers who probably fought hard to be the lead dancer but lost.

Wedding Thriller Dance

This is one wedding I wish I could have attended! What a fun wedding, through probably a little cynical. As cynical as the couple who married at the morgue because they wanted their marriage to represent something more realistic than those happily-ever after scenarios engaged couples usually fantacize about on their wedding day. Why not?

Thriller Jail Dance

No, this is not where Michael Jackson belonged because I believe he was completely innocent. Yes, this one's old. It made its round around the internet and then some. You can tell that these prisoners were probably arrested for gang theft. Just look at their moves which are uniform, as if they're sharing the same brain. Notice their very slick choreographed moves which are very strategic in nature (even the finger snapping in the background is crafty). If these guys had a chance to escape prison while doing the thriller, I suspect they're ready.

Indian Thriller

Disclaimer: This video is not intended to insult my Indian hub friends. It's hilarious therefore I just had to critique it. This thriller has the most animated zombies I've ever seen! The lead performer, the most animated of the group, attacks his performance like someone who drank five cups of coffee or ingested speed before his performance. He looks possessed doesn't he? Like all thriller stars, he is indeed enthusiastic about his role. However, he looks more like a deer caught in headlights than an actual zombie. The only thing scary about him is his Magnum PI mustache and that awful red ensemble!

Marine Thriller

This thriller dancer has the entire act all to himself. He's the lead dancer, the lady in the white dress, the lady in the red dress, and all the back up dancers who fought for the lead and lost (the standard of living is not high for our soliders in Iraq so they have to be practical lol). If the star of the Indian thriller was on speed, this dancer is on trazadone (a sleeping medication). Plus he does the typical, stiff performance you'd expect from a marine. Bravo, though. You should check his smooth criminal routine.

13 Going on 30 Thriller

When the writers of 13 Going on 30 wrote the script I wondered, is this a sarcastic commentary of my generation and our preoccupation with our 1980s youth? Well, dude, we just woke up and the 80s were over and here we were in this new age where music didn’t exist anymore (well, for the early part of the decade which was holding on to the golden tendrils of the 90s but, well, with a few exceptions we just weren’t feeling it) and we had the subtle hints of crow’s feet and white hair shooting out of our scalp. Regardless, it’s fun to relive Thriller which is my generations Macarena (I guess that will be one of my next hubs), yet much more fun. This movie’s version of thriller reminds us that we can forget that there was a time when we weren’t zombies caught in the hum drum routine of work and family life and forget about the time when we were actually human. However, as a thriller fan I have to make one complaint-as much as Jennifer Garner’s a good dancer, the choreography is just not up to par (they’re not even dancing on tune).I guess they wanted to show what Thriller would be like in a regular party scene since this is a movie after all but, and I find this annoying, they also cut moves from the sequence. Oh well, great tribute nonetheless.

Mexican Thriller

Now, this is what I call a Thriller Dance! 12,937 people on the King of Pop's birthday on August 29th, according to the Montreal Gazette, paid tribute to Michael Jackson in Mexico City with this massive Thriller gathering. They were also attempting to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest Thriller gathering in history, a title formerly held by Austin Texas with 900 zombies. It took place just hours after Barcelona held theirs with 700 zombies (again according to the Montreal Gazette). So for the moment they do hold to the world record but I read somewhere that another U.S city is attempting to change that. I’ll keep you posted if that happens. Viva Los Thriller!

Thrill the World

Ah, yes. This is late, but better late than never. See, on October 24th and 25th there’s going to be a worldwide Thriller dance called Thrill the World. It takes place in 96 cities in 12 countries from 6 to 9 p.m ( I will update this with the locations). I know I’m not missing this, even if I’m working (oh, I know all the strange expressions I’ll receive as I'm bobbing my head). Yep, EPIC, nothing like it before. Check it out on thrilltheworld.com and join us zombies as we rise from the dead in honor of Michael Jackson’s life, career, and impact on the world.

Obama Thriller

Here’s a political relevant spin on Thriller, though I'm a huge Obama supporter. Obama is Michael Jackson with co-star Michelle Obama. Surrounding him are his young, unemployed zombies and together they are fighting the Fox News Thriller monster. As far as parody goes, the comedians do an outstanding, realistic job playing the Obamas. I’d like to add that it doesn’t represent my political point of view. There isn’t too much anyone can do, in my opinion, that could quickly get us out of this economic flu contracted by the last administration. Would be nice to see more job creation, though.

Furman University Does The Thriller!

Furman University’s zombified music, and dance body after weeks of exams, projects, and tests have died and risen from the dead at a football game which has amazing resurrecting powers. Good job Furman University! The musicians dance even while playing their instruments, MJ would have been proud!

This is a very clever and astute hub. I wish I had thought of it! I hope you get all the hits that your great work deserves. Bon chance!

Thanks. I'm afraid this one won't get many hits because people believe MJ guilty of child molestation. I don't know if he is myself (I doubt it though), but until there is solid proof I feel free to enjoy his music. Anyway, I grew up with Thriller.

There's a scene in 13 Going on 30, where Jennifer Garner is at this party that is a complete flop, and she goes up to the DJ and whispers in his ear, then starts doing the thriller dance in the middle of an empty dancefloor. It's not long before the floor is packed.

it's a classic scene, you should add it to this great hub - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wO0810JIF4Q

Thanks Jazz. I'm definitely going to include it. The Thriller will always remain one of the all time best dance routines.

He reminds me of a quote from the bible "If people use green wood like this, what will happen when it is dry."

It is very cute. I just thought the choreography was lacking a bit, that's all.

That was brilliantly done and I have always thought MJ innocent and was set up by people looking easy money !

You're smarter then me bc. I believed in Michael Jackson's innocence until the last year of his life because the people in my life kept telling me he was guilty till I started to believe it. I'm going to listen to my intuition from now on. I just revisted the second case and it's sad that people believe the mother of the second accuser when she sued JC Penney of sexually abusing her when she was being detained for shoplifting and failed, sued Bashir for including her son in the documentary and failed, sued Michael Jackson for child molestation and failed, sued the rich comedian George Lopez of stealing $300 and failed, and was being sued by the welfare department for fraud. I could go on about the father of the first accuser and how he wanted a record deal as a condition in his lawsuit but I prefer to remember Michael Jackson as he truly was...a good, kind, vulnerable super icon that brought music and love to the world.
