Or this, from my correspondence with John Markoff of the New York Times in response to his fearmongering, "Do We Need a New Internet," article two days later?:

John,

I respect your willingness to engage my concerns. I mean that. I'll dispense with the silly name calling and apologize:

Look, I'm just growing so tired of being terrorized into giving up my freedoms by threats of things I don't particularly understand. I think that a lot of us are. One could make the argument pretty convincingly that we're being pressured by unseen and largely incomprehensible future 'pearl harbors' of many different kinds on many different levels of our everyday realities. I mean, F.E.M.A. is running around the nation setting up 'hazard mitigation plans' that involve the mandatory inoculation of the entire public in the event of a biological 'terrorist' attack, and asking bewildered municipal employees where would be the best places to put mass graves. H.R. 645, for instance--introduced last month--proposes that 'emergency centers' be established on guarded military installations, and even suggests that clergy work hand in hand with the government to 'escort' the populace to these 'centers' in the event of a 'national emergency'. According to NSPD 51, the executive has the right to decide what qualifies.

I'm no virologist, John, but am I to be expected to walk with a pastor into what could potentially be an internment camp if they announce that a mutation of the bird flu has gone pandemic? Talk about a gated community!

This country is being scared to death.

Remember how the 'swine flu' (a mutation of the bird, swine and human flus) broke out two months later in April and WENT PANDEMIC?

Now THIS, from The Progressive (a one hundred year old, syndicated magazine, just in case you have any doubt as to its credibility):

"The Pentagon Wants Authority to Post Almost 400,000 Military Personnel in U.S."

There are just north of 100, 000 troops in Iraq right now, to put this in perspective!

FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

FOUR!

HUNDRED!

THOUSAND!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

This has been covered, by the way, though not nearly in such detail, on both CNN and FOX NEWS.

A couple of interesting contextual observations:

The National Emergency Centers (a.k.a., the F.E.M.A. camp) bill calls for the establisment of 6 major regional centers throughout the country. It hasn't even come close to passage, as was expected. The NORTHCOM homeland militarization plan calls for the establisment of 5 major command centers. You get that picture, i presume.

Even as of early April, 2009, if you'll remember, just before the swine flu 'outbreak,' Mexico was on the brink of all out civil war. It was all over the news. Along came the virus, and viola! No more unrest. The American people, at this point in time, are so riled up about having been fooled again that American politicians can no longer hold town hall meetings without being accosted by hordes of justifiably angry American citizens. The Tea Parties and town hall protests are not about any single issue, you can rest assured. People are not showing up en mass to these events carrying gadsen flags and signs reading, "time to water the tree of liberty," with the sole motivation of protesting universal health care. There is a much greater trend afoot, and a hell of a lot more at steak than just that. And the people know it. Now factor in all the warnings issued about the great mutation of H1N1 this fall. Civil unrest vs. pandemic outbreak, part two: America. You get that picture, i presume.

Now let me just state for the record (as though it would ever matter except to say, "I told you so.") THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT PSYCHIC! Okay? I issued these questions about PANDEMIC FLU for people's consideration BEFORE THE REAL THING EVER BROKE, and I did that for a reason. Namely, it seemed to be chief among THEIR concerns.

Verily, I say unto you:
If you watch the news in the right ways, noting the general directions in which the propaganda is pushing and pay special attention to policy planning and priorities, YOU CAN SEE INTO THE FUTURE. Why do you suppose this is the case?

But running around saying, "see, I called it," does no good whatsoever. So I will stick my neck out and once again issue this

like a neon sign flashing on and off:

When they tell you this fall may be aweful, when they tell you millions may die, remember, THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT PSYCHIC, and consider that all the more reason to BELIEVE IT. (Psychotic, yes, but not psychic.)

Make no mistake, folks, the narrative from back in February continues unabated in astonishingly precise detail.

So what do we do?

Question of the hour.

If a truly deadly 'mutation' pops up out of nowhere this fall (which is coming very, very soon, mind you) it will work to our benefit for as many of us as possible to understand that it was probably NOT of natural origin. That way, at least, if they mobilize the martial law clauses in response, a large percentage of us will be savvy enough to identify the militarization of the U.S. as the quintessential motivation behind which the situation became what it did in the first place, rather than tolerate it as some kind of well-intentioned, even if dangerous, knee-jerk response. If a LARGE ENOUGH percentage understands this, then we can protect ourselves from a forceful authoritarian takeover via forceful retaliation. Therefore--and naturally--TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW.

And, then, if you haven't already, GET PROTECTED! Look, there comes a time when you have to stop saying, "if things continue to progress in this way, i might have to think about protecting myself. Hell, I might even buy a gun." Things have OFFICIALLY continued to progress in this way. If you have the money, buy a gun. It's funny that this is where a lot of people who have read this far into this piece will finally go, "alright, this guy's nuts. He's telling me to buy a gun." Buy a gun. Buy two. You may not need it. Hopefully you won't. Maybe this is dead wrong. If so, then so what. You'll own a gun. You may own two.

But on the other hand, I want you to understand something. As I may have pointed out previously in this piece:
NORTHCOM WANTS AUTHORITY TO POST ALMOST 400, 000 MILITARY PERSONNEL IN THE U.S.! THAT'S THREE TIMES THE AMOUNT OF TROOPS CURRENTLY STATIONED IN ALL OF IRAQ.

Ask yourself, "WHAT PEACEABLE REASON ON EARTH COULD THEY POSSIBLY HAVE FOR NEEDING THAT MANY TROOPS HERE?"

Then, in the most honest and unbiased tone you can possibly muster, "JUST WHAT IN THE FUCK AM I GOING TO DO IF THAT HAPPENS?"

As many troops as 400, 000 may sound like, remember, there are (give or take) 125,000,000 AMERICAN CITIZENS in this country who are armed. I never thought I'd say this, as I'm generally a peaceful and reasonable person, but I would suggest becoming one of them at this point.
