One of the treatments that has been made available in treating tinnitus or ear ringing is tinnitus laser treatment. The idea behind this is that lasers produce heat, and applying heat to the cochleas promotes healing. As you might have known, one of the main causes of the condition is the cochlear damage brought about by noise, as well as certain procedures, including ear wax removals, ear candling, and dental, head, and ear surgery.
The other known causes of ringing in the ears include stress, sinusitis or allergies, Meniere's Disease, presbycusis or age-associated hearing loss, temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ), hypertonia or muscle tension, hypothyroidism, hypertension, and anemia. It is strongly recommended that if you experience the unwanted sound, visit your physician and have its root cause determined the soonest time possible.
As you might have observed, the causes are general medical conditions. And, because tinnitus laser treatment is known to strengthen cell and tissue repair, stimulates nerve function, aids in the generation of new healthy cells and tissues and speeds up wound healing, many of the causes of the unwanted sound are addressed. For instance, the treatment is reported to be helpful in treating temporomandibular joint disorder, which is one of the causes of the unwanted sound. In effect, as the TMJ is treated, ear ringing is also treated.
Furthermore, it is known to stimulate the immune system, which is an important factor in treating ringing in the ears. The immune system is associated with the condition because the latter tends to weaken the former. What usually happens is that the unwanted noise tends to get so loud at night that falling asleep at night becomes a problem for the sufferer. Lack of sleep poses negative effects like you getting exhausted and stressed easily the following day, and of course, it weakens the immune system, thus exposing you to various diseases.
Thus, while you undergo laser therapy, you also have to do share in boosting your immune system. Have a diet that is balanced and that is specially rich in zinc, and a proper and regular exercise. You also have to get enough sleep at night. If falling asleep at night becomes a problem, the use of maskers is a likely option.
While tinnitus laser treatment can be effective, better results would be witnessed if it is used with other treatments. Usually, it is combined with the use of Gingko biloba, an herbal preparation.
