Tips For Internet Writers: Getting Google To Acknowledge You

Blogging:
The emergence of 'Blogging' onto the World Wide Web has created unlimited sites offering free web space to those who wish to use it. Virtually anyone who has access to a computer can now easily create themselves a personal website on which their opinions, thoughts, ideas, or special talents will exist for all of cyberland to view. All that is needed is an idea, a little creativity, and a few basic writing skills.
So you stumble yourself onto one of those free sites and you build yourself the perfect little webpage. Gosh but it looks like pure heaven! Pretty. Pretty. There is only one problem with the whole setup, the only people who may ever see your website are yourself, your best friend Madge, and your long lost Uncle Henry (who actually isn't lost, just a little squirrely, and has managed to lock himself in the basement for the past 22 years).
But lets forget about Uncle Henry for the moment and deal with the issue of how to get traffic to your website. Unfortunately the most difficult part of writing Online is having your material found amongst all the millions upon millions of sites currently cluttering up cyberland.
Just take a minute to Google any subject you think that you might like to write on and see how many other people had the same idea. So how do you get noticed? How do you stand out from all those other sites? How do you get Google to acknowledge your presence in Cyberland?
Getting Google's Attention:
To get Google's attention you have to do something that unfortunately a lot of other Internet Writers don't, you create for yourself, an Online presence. You get yourself out there! You become somebody! You make Google think that you are important!
This is actually easier to accomplish in Cyberland than it is in the real world. Remember we are dealing with a Robot here! A bucket of nuts and bolts and he is actually pretty easy to trick into thinking that you are some high and mighty author.
Now the main reason that you can do this is because the search engine robots aren't judging the quality of your writing. You could be the world's worst creator of a comedy, and still get away with it in Cyberland, Google's robot isn't going to be looking to callopse into giggles before he gives you a five star rating. He just wants to know that you are important in Cyberland, and he thinks that you are important in his world, if he sees you out there!
Get Your Name Out There!
This is where most Internet Writers make their biggest mistake. They use a different alias or name on every site that they write, blog, work or comment on. They throw away their opportunities to put their name out there! They waste the hundreds upon hundreds of chances that they have to get their name out there on the Internet. They lose their opportunity to become important to Google's Robot, but worse yet, they lose their identity as an Internet Writer.
Most people use different names on different sites and reduce their ability to be identified. To a writer his identitiy is his work and his work in turn becomes his identity. His creations and his promise of future creativity are what portray his image to the world. The better his reputation as a writer, than the better the likelihood that his work will be desired, purchased, and eventually net him increased monetary gains. The mere mention of his name brings images of his life's work to mind.
Let Google think that you are famous. Use one name to identify yourself and makes it easy for Google and others looking for your work to find YOU. Get your name out there. If the name that you write on here is the one that identifies you throughout Cyberland than Google will start to notice that you are out there!
For a writer his work is his identity. Don't lose yours by writing under a variety of different names. Be proud of what you create and be proud to post your name to all of your blogs, writings, thoughts or comments whether it is on Hardcopy or out in that wonderful world that we so fondly refer to as Cyberland. Then just get out there and have fun!
That is where you'll find me. I love the Internet. I work, play and socialize there. I love to write and I love to play games. So that is exactly what I do online but I let everyone know that it is me doing it.
I'm Ladymermaid. Feel free to Google my name and see how I am doing out there in Cyberland as a writer.
You have to love that old bucket of bolts!
