Tips On How To Avoid Holiday Weight Gain

With yummy foods being served to you, who can resist? But with waistline getting bigger, who would enjoy?

Holidays are near to come and almost everybody feels the excitement of festive mood in the surroundings. Crowded malls, heavy traffics, and jolly Christmas carols are now starting to be seen and heard everywhere. And during this season, all are busy planning not only for their giveaway gifts and goodies, but for the preparation of sumptuous foods that will be served in our parties, reunions and get-together. For holiday is the time of enjoyable eating without worrying anything!

Rule number one during holidays is to forget about diet. Stop counting added calories or you will lose the chance of enjoying the holiday treats. No needs to worry about weight gain for there are ways on how to minimize if not to avoid it for occurring.

Rule number two, just let yourself be treated well by eating your favorite foods during this season. Remember, you can only fully enjoy these holiday season if your stomach is full!

Here are some tips on how to make this season enjoyable with no weight gain:

  • In attending reunions, get-together, and/or parties, try to participate on games as much as possible particularly games that includes physical movements. In this way, even if you eat much, you can still burn fats while enjoying and laughing with your friends and/or relatives.
  • Eat all the food you want but make sure not to fall sleep when your stomach is full. Allow ample time to digest the food you've eaten by taking a walk or making yourself busy like wrapping gifts, participate in house cleaning and decorating, singing and dancing.
  • Drink lots of water that will help your digestive system works. Take more breathing exercises because oxygen is essential in burning fats and convert it into energy.
  • Participate in the preparation and cooking of the foods to be served for holidays. There's a psychological effect that your stomach seems full whenever you smell the aroma of yummy foods therefore you will lessen your food intake.
  • If possible, drink red wine or water instead of other alcohol drinks for it is much better in our digestive system. The faster our metabolism, the lesser chance that we gain weight.
  • Eat more during daytime and less during night time for our body is more active during daytime and need more energy to use.
  • Drink herbal tea after every heavy meal to help digest the food you've taken and lessen stored fats.
  • Eat foods rich in fiber like leafy vegetables and cereals. These will help speed up your metabolism.
  • And last but most important, stay always happy and relax. Anyway, holiday season is only once a year so make it worth enjoying.
