Tips for Avoiding Hair Loss

How to Avoid Hair Loss
Prevention is always better than cure. It is ar better to prevent hair loss than to try and cure it.
By following these tips, a large portion of hair loss can be avoided.
1) Maintain a healthy and balanced diet. Poor nutrition and vitamin uptake is responsible for a great deal of hair loss.
2) Avoid the unnecessary use of chemicals in your hair. Chemicals tend to badly damage the hair and cause brittleness and breaking. This is true for perm lotions, bleaches, and some hair colourants. The less chemical treatments in your hair the better.
3) Gently massage your scalp twice daily using your fingertips and not your nails. This increases blood circulation to the hair follicles and results in increased nutrition supply to the hair.
4) Avoid Blow drying of the hair where possible. Natural drying is far better but if you do need to blow dry, then use a low heat setting and avoid placing the dryer too close to the head.
5) When using a towel to dry your hair, avoid vigorous drying as this tends to break the hair. Rather use a soft and gentle patting of the head.
6) When using hair products such as mousse or setting lotions, avoid contact with the scalp as this tends to block the hair follicles.
7) Once a week try to gently massage a good quality oil, such as coconut oil, into the scalp. Leave on for a couple of hours and then use a gentle shampoo to remove. THis provides great nourishment to the scalp and hair follicles.
8) Avoid hair styles that pull on your hair. This includes tight ponytails etc. The pulling stretches and breaks the hair.
9) Regular gentle brushing of the hair is great but avoid harsh brushing as this strips and stretches the hair, resulting in brittle hair that is prone to breakage.
10) After swimming in a pool, rinse hair as soon as possible with fresh water to remove excess chlorine. Wash hair with a mild shampoo as soon as is convenient.
It is advisable that as soon as unnatural hair loss is noticed that it is treated. A great site for information on all aspects of Hair loss can be found here.

Nice Coment Oliver.
Yes I do have a receding hairline and it does not worry me at all. I do write about hair loss products and help many to regrow their hair. Why do I not regrow my own hair. Hair and image do not worry me and I am quite content as I am thank you.
