How to play Wii Sports

Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort are two of the most popular titles for the Nintendo Wii.  Since Wii Sports comes bundled with the video game console when you buy it, you can take advantage of sports individually, on teams or as a group from the start.  You can take the Wii Fitness Test to determine your fitness age and see how you progress in skill the more you play.  If you are looking for a fun an exciting way to exercise without shelling out for Wii Fit, Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort are one way to do that.  In order to play, you simply pick a sport, follow the instructions and play.  You interact with each sport via the Wii Remote and simply do the motions you would do if playing the sport in real life.  So, for example, if you are playing baseball, you swing and pitch like you would if you were on the mound or up to bat at home plate.

Tips for Wii Sports

When starting a new sport, always go through the tutorial for the sport.  This will explain exactly how each spot uses the Wii Remote and Nunchuk.  This will also walk you through how to play and when you start a sport, it gives you a few chances to warm up and explain how to play.  It is important to know how to play each sport to be able to compete against others and win games.  This also helps improve your skill level and ranking so that you can track your progress and see how well you are doing.

Tricks for Wii Sports

The key to doing well in Wii Sports is to utilize your wrist.  In tennis, your wrist movement alone determines how hard you hit the tennis ball in relation to your swing.  So, instead of doing a full swing, if you flick your wrist when you serve, you will hit it harder than simply swinging like you would on a tennis court.  You do not necessarily have to do the full motion you would if playing the sport in real life as you can see from the above example.  In fact, the more you try and emulate the sport, the harder it is to control the Wii Remote and its connection with the sensor bar.  Since the release of Wii Sports Resort and Wii MotionPlus, this has become less of an issue but it still exists.
