Tips for better time management
50Time management is something that we all have to consistently keep on top of. My husband and I are both self employed so this is even more so for us. If we don't budget our time accordingly then we don't make money and lose money! Below are a couple of things that we have found that work for us:
1. LISTS: Lists are a great way to see what you need to do and what you have accomplished. It is a constant reminder and a great source of motivation for us. Remember when you are making your list to put things on like; brush your teeth, brush your hair, put on make up, along with the more time consuming ones like laundry, clean the house, do your work etc. Do the same thing at work as well make a list so you have set goals that you have to accomplish and can see the progress you are making through the day!
2. TIME OFF: Give yourself a day off every now and then. If you go all the time you will burn out and it will be more harmful than taking the day to chill out and do what you want to do with no list. (This is actually harder for me than doing the things on my list!)
3. SCHEDULE: Work on getting into a routine! Include everything in your day for your schedule from getting out of bed to working out, eating lunch, the whole nine yards. The more scheduled you are the more you are likely to get accomplished in a day.
4. PURPOSE: Finally but one of the most important things would be to find a purpose in your life. Not a job, a purpose something you are passionate about that will make you want to get up and get going in the morning. Something that will drive you to complete and do more every day!
These are the things we have found work for us, and they require constant attention and work, but they are well worth it!

Thank you for the kind words!
Great hub. You would think it is so basic, but so many struggle with this. I love lists. I clean my house on a list and my husband just shakes his head, but everything gets done that way.
Thanks for the hub!

You know I have also found that when it's on the list, it's more 'OUT' of my mind so I can rest...I don't have to concentrate on remembering. When studying one of the thiings that cause us to lose sleep (I'm an insomniac) -- I came across information that talked about lists, as most insomniacs say they "can't shut their mind off." and I say that all the time.
Lists help me!! Your tips on purpose is vital...all your tips are useful, thank you!
