Directory Submission Tips

We all know how much directory submission service is needed to build the back links for a website. Though it is easy, and not more than a data entry job, but especial care is needed to do effective directory submission. Here I would like to share some tips with you for doing directory submission.

  • Search for relevant category: It takes time to search for relevant category for doing directory submission. To search for a relevant category type main keyword related with your site in directory search box. The result will show you sites already listed there along with category in which it is listed. This will help you in making a clear picture regarding category in your mind.
  • Deep Link Submissions: Many people think that most directories do not accept deep link, they are only accepted in deep link directories, however it is half true most of the directories do accept deep link submission, we generally do not read the guidelines while submitting a site to the directory, it is well written in directories that they do accept internal pages of a website.
  • Multiple Submissions in directory: It must have happened with everyone, you submit your site in directory and message comes out URL already exists in the directory, what most of us do is skip that directory and move to next one. But, the fact is that submission to a directory which is giving message URL already exists there is possible, what you have to do is choose a different category. Suppose you have a mobile phone website and it is already listed in shopping->mobile phone category, what you can do is submit your site in shopping-> consumer products or in telecommunication category.
