Computer Time for Kids : Internet Safety Tips for Kids


We all know that today is important to realize the risks involved using a computer with internet connection. Worse still if the computer is in an Internet booth, and if handled by children. Recall that at this location only interested in money and not quality of service. It's like a taxi service. Some drivers may be out of the car to open the door or help with packages. Others are made to beg to bring to a particular location. These people are only interested in money but not the quality of service. It is therefore important to follow some tips that experts now reported to prevent children and young remain misled or bullied through websites like Hi5, Facebook or Msn Messenger. The following discloses the advice that the Ministry of Women and Social Development uses posters and leaflets in their campaign to secure Chat, Chat thought.

I. On the sending of personal data and photos by Internet


· DO Not believe all the messages you receive, especially those that supposedly give you a lot for nothing. Please use caution when reading these messages and think about the consequences.

· Do not get carried away and tempted to think or imagine what it is, it does not really know who you're talking the other side.

· Never place your personal photos in a public profile or send to the strangers, because you risk to be misused or tampered with to publish later on pornographic sites or the entire network.

· DO Not place, or send your personal information (real names, address, telephone or cell phone) via the Internet to people or have recently met

II. If someone you met on Internet , Through chat, Hi5 or Messenger,propose to know you personally


· DO Not accept.

Do not be taken as they say in chat because people may not be being honest with you in your conversations.


III. And if you've accepted

· DO Not go alone to the meeting. Tell your parents first and let the direction of the rendezvous.

· Be wary of the appointment time and place where you were quoted.

· Avoid appointments at night without company.

· DO Not let yourself take pictures.

· Not accept anything to drink that is not closed. Similarly, do not accept cigarettes.


IV. If someone invites you to take you to pose for photos or other activities in exchange for money


· DO Not do it, you can be sexually abused, filmed or photographed and then your image can be sold or uploaded to the Internet.

· Run the risk of being kidnapped, exploited, abused or killed.

· Be wary of recent friendships and created spontaneously.
· Beware of gifts from strangers .

· Most likely your friend is made and has other intentions.

V. If you use a webcam

Run the risk to publish your image, you crawl, you kidnap, denounce you, and you have family problems.

· When the person you ask you're connected in provocative poses or without clothes in front of your webcam you have to cut the conversation, remove the contact and tell an older person to prevent.

· You should be more reserved and did not pose nude or perform provocative poses in front of a webcam.

· Run the risk that capture the image and appear on any side.

· Only use the webcam with people you know.

VI. On publications in newspapers or magazines in which are provided "Castings for TV" or to be Model


· DO Not go alone to run the risk that is not a real audition and be deceived / beware of the photos you give them might be use for another purpose.

· Do not be taken in these castings that offer to make you "famous" quick and easy.

· Not get carried away by friends pressure.

· You must always be accompanied by an adult.

· Listen and obey your parents. Remember that control is important for adults who believe and love you.

VII. Parents and guardians must take into account:

Do not use a public phone booth on the Internet as a nursery for their children.

· Commonly know where their children attend to use the Internet.
· Ensure that their children attend only trusted public kiosks, where they feel they will be supported by a responsible adult.

· Talk to your children and inform them according to their ages on the risks they face in the Internet.

Ensure that the computer they use their children at home, count on filters and blockers adequate and timely data that are not easily fooled by certain harmful pages abound in the Internet.

• Inform correctly Internet , Both in their use and management, and the risks it involves.
