I know how important our clothes are to us and just a little stain can ruin the whole appearance of our clothes. So I gathered some common causes of stain and how to remove it.

  • Coffee and Tea Stain

Flush the back of the stain with cold water, then soak the garment in equal parts vinegar breaks down the dark tannins in these drinks. If the stain remains, dab with toothpaste. Its sodium bicarbonate neutralizes the pigmentation.

  • Softdrinks Stain

Wet the stain area with cold water. In a spray bottle, mix 1tbsp. of clear household ammonia and 1 cup of water, then spray the stain with the mixture and blot with a paper towel. The alkaline solution dissolves the sugar in the soft drink, preventing it from caramelizing and darkening over time.

  • Lipstick Stain

Most lipstick are oil-based lipstick stain can be treated by a pre-wash stain remover before washing the whole shirt. Don't rub the stain because the stain can go deeper, just blot the stain with a towel and rinse with warm water. If the stain is hard to remove, try applying a good liquid detergent to the stain (do not rub the cloth).

  • Gravy and Ketchup Stain

Wet the back of the stain with cold water. Soak the material in cold water for 30 minutes, then wet the towel or cotton with hydrogen peroxide and dab on the stained area. The peroxide's bubbly oxidizing action gently removes any remains of the condiment's reddish pigmentation.

  • Fruit Juice Stain

Turn the garment inside out and stretch taut over a wide bowl so the stain is centered. Secure with a rubber band. Pour boiling water over stain. The hot water loosens the fruit residue, lifting it out of the fibers. Dab the stain with lemon juice to lighten any remaining discoloration.

  • Ice Cream Stain

Fill the sink with cold water sink and add about 5tsp of salt. Let the clothe soak in the solution for 30minutes. As the saturated fibers expand, the sodium in salt is more easily able to break down proteins in ice cream, releasing the stain's grip on the fabric.

  • Salad Dressing Stain

Sprinkle the spot with ΒΌ cup of cornstarch, remain it there for 3 hours, then brush off. The powder will absorb the grease. To speed up the process, place the cornstarch-covered area between two paper towels and press with a hot iron. The heat melts the oily residue so it can be absorbed by the towels.

  • Mustard Stain

A fresh stain is easier to treat, so if the stain has dried, add a bit of mustard (the same kind) to the soiled area. The solvents in the condiment will help draw out the turmeric acid dye from the fibers. Then soak the garment in full-strength liquid detergent.
