Introduction

Stability pertains to the steadiness of your computer and quality performance. Meaning to say, no viruses, malicious wares or any unusual events in your system including blue screen of death. In this article, the content will tackles more about software related concerns since, blue screen pertains to hardware communication error of your computer although software might be a rare case or issue.

BIOS(basic input/output system) SETTING- for added protection the user can put the so-called supervisor's password to ensure that no one can access it except the user itself to avoid harmful changes in the computer. But you should not forget the password or else you have to reset the CMOS setting to re-access your BIOS.

Windows update and Firewall setting- updating your system will provide added security and protection against harmful threat. Firewall must be activated at all times since it has been said to be the recommended setting.

Anti-Virus- You have to install the anti-virus like Norton, AVG, McAfee and many more. See to it that the said program is updated and you have the latest version.

Creating an account or guess account- if the computer is being used by two or more user, It is necessary to create a new account so that the administrator can protect the system at all times. The guess or user account can open the files or folders and do activities similar to an administrator except Installing a new software or deleting sensitive system files specifically windows and program files.

What to do if harmful changes has been made to your computer unexpectedly or a virus captivated your system?

In windows XP, the system can be retrieve from its previous state by using the system restore. This preliminary approach is applicable but not in all cases since we want to secure our important data and documents, much better if we make some efforts to try rather than to reformat the hard drive or local disk immediately wherein the operating system is located.

In windows XP,

1. Just click START

2. Go to SEARCH and type system restore.

3. Press search, the icon will appear and double click the system restore icon.

4. It will prompt you to select certain task. Double click Restore my computer to an earlier time.

5. Select in the calendar the date when your computer is running in the most efficient and stable condition.

XP has the ability to automatically record all necessarry restore point unlike Vista Operating system wherein you have to create a stable restore point otherwise, you will not be able to use this function if system restore point is not recorded.

I wish this article can help you in maintaining stability with your computers. Good luck to all my co-Hubber.
