Tips to repair Form in MS Access database

Forms created in Microsoft Access database allow the database users to enter data directly into the MS Access tables. Furthermore, you can delete and modify the records from MS Access table using these forms. While these forms can be easily opened and closed after making the required changes, an error message might occur while you are attempt to open a form after modifying the query name or table name. This error message makes the Form inaccessible and does not allow the user to make any further changes in MS Access tables using that Form. To overcome such situations, an ideal way is to restore the Form from an updated backup. However, if no backup is available or backup falls short to restore the required Form, then you will need to use advanced access recoverysoftware.

Consider a practical scenario, where experience one of the following problems when you attempt to open your Finance Form after changing the field name, query name, or table name:

“The field on the form shows #Name?”

Or

“You are prompted for the old field name.”

Or

You encounter the below error message:

The Microsoft JET Database Engine could not find the input table or query '<Table or Query Name>'. Make sure it exists and the name is spelled correctly.”

Cause:

Few main causes for the above behavior are discussed below:

  • Your Form consists of a SQL Select statement in the record source, and the field name that you changed is referred to in the ControlSource property of the Form.

  • The field name that you modified is referred to in the OrderBy or Filter property of the your Form.

  • When you converted your Form from an earlier version of MS Access, the Track Name AutoCorrect option was disabled.

Resolution:

To resolve the above error message and access the Finance Form, you will need to refer to the new field name, query table, or table name. However, if the above resolution fails to provide access to Finance Form, then you will need to use advanced Access Recovery software. These Access Database Repair applications use advanced scanning methods to scan and recover MS Access database components. Built with interactive user-interface, these utilities are easy to implement without any prior database recovery experience.

  • Fixing “Microsoft Office Access can't compact and repair...” Error Message

Severe corruption in MS Access database primarily results in unmountability of database and complete inaccessibility of its records. Few main reasons for acute corruption of Access database file could be fatal virus attack, continuous improper shutdown of the database, and application malfunction. To access your database records after severe corruption, an easy way is to restore the data from an updated backup. However, if the database is not handy or it is not feasible to restore the data from the backup, then the only choice left is to use advanced third-party access database repair application. Consider a practical situation, where your database gets severely corrupted and you attempt to repair it by using “Compact and Repair”. To do so, you follow the below mentioned steps: 1.The first step is to click Tools option on the Toolbar menu. 2.Now select Database Utilities from the drop-down list. Click 'Compact and Repair Database' option. 3.Next, choose the corrupt Access database in 'Database to Compact From'. 4.To begin with compact and repair, click 'Compact'. However, while the compacting and repairing process was ongoing, the below error message pops up: “Microsoft Office Access can't compact and repair the current database.” The above error message pops up every time you attempt to repair the database by using “Compact and Repair”. Cause: As stated in the error message, the MS Access is unable to compact and repair the database. The root cause for the occurrence of the above error message is severe corruption of your database. Resolution: To resolve the above error message and to access the records stored in the database, you will need to use advanced third-party access repair application. An Access Repair tool uses powerful scanning methods to perform absolute repair of corrupt database. It provides safe database repair, without making any overwriting or modifications in the original file. The repair utility is embedded with highly interactive documentation that makes it easy to understand. There is no requirement of prior technical knowledge to perform the repair process.

  • Tips to resolve “Microsoft Office Access cannot retrieve field... ”

Occurrence of an error message while mounting, accessing, or closing an MS Access database indicates that there is some problem with the database. In most cases, such problems primarily occur due to corruption or damage in database. A damaged database does not allows the user to view its records. In such situations, if you need to access the records stored in your database, then the best way is to restore it from an updated database backup. However, if the backup is unavailable or has been corrupted, then you will need to use an advanced access repair application that can orderly repair your database. This database needs to be repaired. If you click Yes, Microsoft Office Access will open the table in Design view. The settings of the FieldName, DataType, FieldSize, Indexed, and Primary properties will remain intact, but the settings of other field properties will be lost. You can attempt to redefine the lost properties, but we recommend that you restore the database from a backup copy, or close it and use the Compact and Repair Database command (click the Microsoft Office Button and point to Manage)Do you want to continue?” As the error message appears on the mounting of the database, it makes all the database records inaccessible. • Tips to resolve “Microsoft Office Access was unable to completely repair...”

In most cases, the database users are unable to identify the exact cause of MS Access database corruption. This is the reason that they mostly land up in further corrupting their database. Corruption in your database can either be caused due to logical factors (improper system shutdown, application malfunction, and virus attack) or physical factors (accidental dropping, fire, water, natural disasters, etc.). An easy way that most database users follow to overcome the corruption scenarios is by restoring the data from an updated backup. However, there are many situations where the users have either not created any backup or their backup file gets corrupted. In such situations (for logically corrupted databases), they need to perform access repair by either using a third-party repair application. Consider a practical scenario, where your MS Access database does not mount due to corruption. Furthermore, you also encounter the below error message: “Microsoft Office Access was unable to completely repair the '|' table and deleted some Memo, OLE Object, or Hyperlink field values. To recover the data, restore from your backup copy of the database....” All your database records become inaccessible after the the database becomes unmountable. However, if the above error message appears even after following the aforementioned steps, then your database is severely corrupted and needs a third-party access database repair tool to perform repair. Such Access Repair applications perform repair by using advanced scanning algorithms. Moreover, these applications come highly graphical user documentation, which makes them easy-to-understand without any prior technical understanding.
