Trimming Down Before the Big Day: Tips for Every Bride-to-Be

After the many months of planning, it is finally here. Your wedding day is soon! Congratulations! Perhaps you are busily checking off those final to-do lists. Dress? Check. Caterers? Check. Shoes and accessories? Check. Hair and makeup? Check. Weight loss plan? Say what? There isn’t a bride anywhere who doesn’t want to look spectacular on her wedding day. It is meant to be the day you pledge your love to your life’s partner. Everyone will be there, and all eyes will be on the two of you. It is essential that everything be as perfect as possible, down to the last photo, sequin, and bow. For this reason many brides choose to lose weight and tone up before their wedding. If you are considering doing this as well, here are some tips to help make sure you lose well… and safely.

1)Fad Diets Aren’t Fabulous. Pills, starvation diets, cleanses… let’s face it, they do work for the short term. However, robbing your body of necessary nutrients can cause other problems both in the short and long term.

2)Slow and Steady Wins the Race. The best way to lose weight is to lose s-l-o-w-l-y. Most trainers and diet experts recommend that brides begin a diet regimen at least six months prior to their wedding day. The proper diet regimen will take focus on proper nutrition, increasing activity to burn calories, and muscle strengthening and toning. If you don’t have six months, then plan to spend more time working out. A good rate of weight loss? One to two pounds per week.

3)Water is YOUR Friend, TOO. Water is an essential part of any weight loss plan. You need to stay hydrated, particularly if you are going to be stepping up your game and exercising more. Water flushes the body, ridding it or impurities or toxins. And, water is actually the key to reducing water weight gain, as being properly hydrated prevents water retention.
