Tips to Help You Look and Feel Your Best
60When you look great you feel good inside too, and, when you're happy, confident, and feeling positive inside, you end up looking amazing on the outside as well.
In this day and age though, where everything is so fast and furious and there are so many demands for your time, it's easy to get caught up in it all and let caring for yourself fall by the wayside. But.....You don't have to!
Read on to find tips that will help you easily look and feel your best; both inside and out.
Make Looking Fashionable Simple by Learning to Dress for Your Color and Body Shape
With a few simple steps you can fill your closet with clothes that are the right color and size for your unique body. This way, you can relax and feel good about your look even when you're running out the door and can't figure out what to wear....because you know you've only got options that suit your own personal style!
The First Step - Clean Your Closet
Look through your closet and get rid of all those pants, shirts, whatever that you keep around even though you never wear them. They're just taking up time and space that could be used for clothes that will actually suit your best personal colors and body style.
If you need some extra motivation to get cleaning...
Through organizations like Goodwill and The Salvation Army you can donate these poor, unused items so someone that will actually wear them can find them and give them a new life; with the proceeds benefiting these organizations!
Now, take a Minute to Learn What Your Best Colors Are
Many experts recommend the most important aspect of yourself to consider when choosing your best colors is your hair. Eye color and skin tone matter as well, but your hair color is primary.
If you're a blond, the colors for you are bright, warm shades like
oranges, yellows, and rusts. Taupe, tan, and
white are also good. On the other hand, its often good to stay away from deep colors like wines as they can make you look a bit sallow.
If
you're a brunette, you have a wide range of options. Colors like oranges, pinks and reds, along with greens and blues will look lovely as will deep browns and blue-grays.
If you're a redhead, green is for you! Also, try warm tones of brown and orange, plus, ivory looks great on redheads too. Of course, many red heads choose to stay away from pinks and reds, but also purples and grays aren't usually the best for people with red hair.
Then, Consider Your Body Type and Shape
Along with
knowing which colors look good on you, it's also important to know how
to dress for your body type if you want to fill your closet solely with
clothes that will help you feel your best.
When talking about body type you've got to know your shape - are you a pear? an apple? maybe an hourglass or a rectangle? Neither of these shapes is better than any other, you just need to learn to dress in a way that suits your individual shape.
If you have a pear shaped figure - draw attention to your top and stick with jeans that are flared at the bottom as well as A-lined skirts. Also, bold patterns or pants/skirts with pockets on them should be avoided.
Those with an apple shaped body should try to draw attention away from your middle and toward your legs and breasts. Consider V-neck tops, flat front jeans that are boot cut or flared, and shorter skirts and dresses.
For people with an hourglass shape you'll want to go for clothing that accentuates your curves without adding weight to them. Buy stretch denim jeans that hug your curves but then flare out at the bottom. Tops with scoop necks that aren't too loose will look great too.
The rectangle shape is best suited to tops with spaghetti straps or wrap tops to accentuate the upper portion of the body. Also avoid high waisted jeans and instead choose pants that hug and lift your bottom. Pencil and flared skirts will look great on this type of figure as well.
Now you're armed with good information to help you replace all those old, unflattering clothes! To help you save money (and buy more clothes) I always recommend using online coupons. You can find Gap, Abercrombie & Fitch, even Lane Bryant coupons easily...and they'll save you a ton too!
So go have fun, shop...and then when your closet is filled with clothes that are easy for you to wear you'll feel confident that you're dressed your best, even when you have to get ready to go in seconds flat!

Post Positive Quotes Where You'll See Them to Help Remind You Of What's Important
I find it helpful to post special quotes or meditations around my home and office to help me remember to take care of myself and stay positive about life. Check out this video below for some ideas, or head to the library, search online....there are a lot of wise people out there that have said some very inspiring things! Select ones that resonate with you, and put them on the kitchen cupboard, a bulletin board above your computer, the bathroom mirror; wherever you'll see them and read them when you need a bit of a confidence or emotional boost.
Find a Way to Move
The majority of Americans are waaaay to sedentary. Sitting at work, in the car, on the lazy-boy; never really getting the body moving like it needs to. I'm not saying you have to run a marathon. But, you'll look and feel better if you consciously try to move more.
Try dancing, great for body and soul! Or, how about parking your car a bit further from the door at work. Maybe commit to taking an evening walk after dinner each night, or doing some yoga poses each morning. Whatever you can manage, do. Just make some type of physical activity part of your day, each and every day!
Regularly Spend Time With a Good Friend
Maintaining a solid relationship with a close friend is important...but, when time get's scarce it's often family and work that take priority. While this is completely understandable, it will help both you, and your friend to also make sure to carve out even a short time on a regular basis to check in and catch up.
This time can come in many forms; maybe a phone conversation, a quick cup of coffee, dinner with the families;the important part is that you take time out for each other...it will make both of your feel better in the end!
