To Hell in a Handbasket: an apology to RFRWCs

In the past year, citizens of Hong Kong, Japan, and nearly half of the western United States have experienced a slight darkening of the sky in normal daylight hours, and a virtually starless sky at night. The first report of there being no visible sun came to the media's attention last January, and since then similar reports have flooded emergency call centers across nearly half of the world. One Navada man described the phenomenon, "It's like an eclipse without the eclipse." Indeed that's exactly what it has been like these past twelve months.

But the phenomenon only seemed be occurring in half of the world. The other half (roughly between Missouri and mid-Asia) has been living in the same normal light that it is used to. Many inhabitants of the areas of strangely diminished light have relocated to the better-lit regions of the world. China's massive population has grown significantly, while California has seen a 15% decrease in citizens in the past year. New York is teeming at epic population levels, as is Chicago, London, and Paris. Government officials have teamed up with scientists of every ilk to try to figure out what is causing this sudden, perplexing oddity. Now a discovery has been made which will change the outlook of the entire world, and steer the course of our species' future in a never-before seen direction.

"It appears the World is going to Hell in a handbasket," said astronaught Clive Jennings at a press conference in September. Jennings and his team had just returned from an exploritory mission to get a better perspective on this recent phenomenon. They came back with more than just perspective, they came back with the painful truth of mankind's current condition. What they saw while in orbit was a wake up call for the whole world.

The view from the shuttle windows was a shocking one. At first, Jennings' men didn't quite know what they were looking at. Most of them had been on similar missions and were familiar with the Earth's appearance, but what they saw on this mission was something quite different. Leutenant Harding of Jennings' team told reproters, "At first I thought what I was seeing couldn't be possible, so I asked the other men if they saw it too. All they could do was stare with their jaws hanging. That's when it started to hit home. All I could think to myself was, 'My old Dad was right, God rest his soul, the poor bastard was right all along!'"

A rude awakening

Photographs taken by Jennings' team along with telescopic images and mathematical data reveal what can only be an enormous basket in which the Earth is now cradled. It is clearly made of some kind of wicker material, woven basket style, with a large hoop handle. Most shockingly of all is the hand that holds it, which vanishes beyond the wrist into the black of outer-space. The basket-with-hand is tilted in a tugging jesture in the direction of the sun. It doesn't take long for the reality of the situation to sink in. The World is indeed going to Hell in a handbasket.

This grim discovery is the answer to so many of the world's questions, cheif among them being, "which religion is right?" The basket is undenyable proof of there being a single true religious belief system. All other religions besides this true one have started to dismantle and turn their hearts to the faithful ones of the true faith. What faith is it? Well, if you're reading this, you don't need me to answer that question. You've probably already sought out the nearest Radical Fundamentalist Right Wing Christian Church, and you no doubt spend most of your time there grovelling on your knees to the sound of a droning pipe organ. Now that you know the truth, you're probably already begging the RFRWC's of the world to forgive you and show you the way to salvation. I know I am! Just one look up at that huge basket is enough for me to know that all those people who I thought were blind, closed-minded, ignorant, dogmatic bullies are actually the only people who really know the truth about this existence in which we live. I am so sorry for not being scared all my life of a huge being in the sky who watches and judges my every move. I guess I'm much less of a person than the for needing to see real evidence in order to realize the complex truths preacehd about by these wonderful RFRWCs. Thank goodenss that evidence is finally here or I woud've never guessed that such bombastic claims were actually true.

My appeal to dissenters

Please heed my appeal. Everyone who knows about the recently discovered basket, in which we are all being dragged to Hell, but still chooses not to believe in the wisdom of the RFRWCs, please save yourselves now by forgetting everything you know to be true and allowing an extremist Christian to replace all your ill conceived knowledge with their true wisdom. There's a hub right here on this website where you can do just that. There are hubbers on here that would be glad to show you how to escape your fiery demise. If you do like me and follow the examples of these seemingly idiotic religious zealots, then you can be one of the lucky ones who will jump ship right before it gets hot. Please stop arguing with the RFRWCs before it's too late for you. They love you and only want you to escape the fires of Hell. They may seem like insecure psychopaths at first, but now we can see that it is all of us who disgree with them who are ignorant of the truth. They were right all along. Please acknowledge their wisdom for your own sakes. Before it's too late!

Do you think you are more intelligent than God? If you were to count all the words you wrote down over your whole life, would there be more words written than the Bible?

Proverbs 3:5 states, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. It is very straightforward, wouldn't you say? It is saying, God knows more than man. What man knows is not even close to what God knows.

So whose way should a person go? Their own way, or God's Way?

Maybe they should go YOUR way, SirDent. That is essentially what you are saying, isn't it? I mean, cherrish the thought that your idea of God's Word isn't accurate at all. You're saying that you know truth better than I do. So I guess I should heed your wisdom and direct others to you as well.

You know God so much better than me, so I should go your way at first until I catch up with you. Then when I'm at your level I can share my wisdom with people of a lesser relationship with God.

Maestro, what you fail to realize is that it is not my way. I did not make the way. God made THE WAY. He made the only way, not many as Satan would have you to believe.

Did you read the scripture I posted in my first comment? What is the scripture saying?

But you are implying that you know God's way better than I do, right? Oh, I realize what it is you think you're saying, but YOU don't realize what it is you are ACTUALLY saying. You're saying that you have a better understanding of truth than I do. So, therefore, your way is better than mine. You ask me what the scripture means not because you want to know what it means, but because you want to teach me what it means. Am I right?

oh, I see. When someone gives you a challenge that you would have to actually think about, you lose interest.

Actually I refuse to take your bait. I am not interested in fighting with you over issues. You have said many times that you are interested in truth. Was that a lie you told?

If you want truth, look me up. I am not into playing games.

This is what I'm talking about. You are taking the position that you possess "the truth" and I do not. That is calledl self-righteousness. You came to this hub with a challenge, and now that I responded to you with an equally challenging comment, you are pretending that you didn't start this "fight" as you call it.

I'm not playing a game here. I asked you some questions that you didn't have the nerve to examine closely and then answer. You care enough to visit my hub so that you can correct me, but you don't care enough to consider what I have to say back to you. That is a double standard. If you're going to present yourself as wise and knowledgable of "the truth" then you should behave wisely with honor and consideration. You should behave according to the image of yourself that you present on this website. You should stay out of something if you aren't prepared to examine yourself when an alternate viewpoint is expressed.

This will be my last comment here. I have never said anything about being wise or knowledgable. I have never said that I possess the truth. In fact, I have never said anything that I do or possess is right. The fact of the matter is this. Th truth is not something I possess, but it is something that possesses me. All the conversation in the world cannot take that away. No debate is good enough or person smart enough to remove me from the truth.

When you write or comment, you merely see your own point. This comes from you, not God. Tell me, by whose authority do you claim to be right?

I published a hub yesterday that I think you should read. Not you only but everyone should read it. http://hubpages.com/hub/Do-What-Thou-Wilt

Of course the choise is yours to make. No one can force you to read it. That makes it free will, just in case you didn't know.

As I stated above, I'll not come back here and comment anymore. See you around HubPages.

Your first comment on here was a challenge to me which I responded to. I it you insinuated that I think my words are more correct than God's words. By doing that, you insinuate that what I wrote is not the truth. Then you proceed to "teach" me the meaning of scriptures as though you possess the true meaning of them and I do not. No you never said straight out that you were wise and I am not, or that you possess truth and i do not, because you didn't HAVE to say it. You think that just because you are a Christian and i am not, that automatically makes you right and me wrong. You can't deny that, pal.

Then you blatantly say that my comments do not come from God, but from myself. While saying that you aren't claiming your own righteousness you do exactly that - claim your own righteousness and superiority over me. You are saying that you know my heart, and you know that I do not know God. That is wrong in so many ways.

oh, and way to solicit yourself right before you tuck your tail in and weasel away.
