Increase Website Traffic - Intro

I am pretty sure you have heard this more than once but traffic is like the lifestream of your internet business. If you are serious about making money from your website, then you will need traffic. Whether it is targeted traffic or social traffic, you will need them, lots of them. So, your main priority in managing an internet business will be to increase website traffic. Without traffic, your website is worth nothing, no matter how good the design or the layout is.

Increase Website Traffic through SEO

The first thing that you have to do to increase website traffic is to do some search engine optimization. Search engine optimization is done by putting keywords in the meta tags, title and your content. Basically, it is just like telling the search engine what your website is about so that it is easier for the spider to crawl your websites and rank them accordingly. However, SEO is not an overnight process. Although you have all the proper structure in place, it might take months before you can see some real results.

Increase Website Traffic via Blogs

If you have a website, you might want to consider developing a blog together with the website so that the blog can drive traffic to the website. The search engine loves blog and readers too. They get a lot of useful information by reading blogs that are constantly updated. Once you have successfully developed a huge readership, you can always drive your blog readers to your website to increase website traffic.

Increase Website Traffic via backlinks

If you have a lot of links pointing to your website, you will get traffic from the websites that link to you. Also, the search engine will rank you well if you have lots of backlinks because you would appear to them as a website with authority.

Increase Website Traffic via Web 2.0

For those of you who do not know, Web 2.0 refers to social traffic like Twitter, MySpace, Squidoo, hubpages and facebook. Social websites probably have the highest number of readers and users. It is like a social community where everyone likes to know what is going on with another person's life, what is the current news and what are people's opinions on a particular topic. Since there are so many people on social websites, if you can get them to link to you or you post a really interesting content, you will be able to generate a lot of social traffic. Social traffic is also another good way to increase website traffic.
