DREAMS: Meaning (Part II)

I usually don't document my dreams, but I do when they are as vivid as this one. This hub is the second in a series of hubs describing my most vivid dreams.

I used to save dreams or thoughts I want to remember in a Notepad file, which is why it is dated over five years ago. Sometimes I talk into my Panasonic tape recorder, especially when I am formulating a story in my head, then when I am ready to write, I listen to my taped comments, otherwise I will have forgotten what I wanted to say.

Here is the dream:

I had the most vivid dream:

A news report was broadcast that two stars were going to collide with each other. The collision would be seen on Earth, and one of the stars was expected to graze Australia. The report also said that Earth might be affected in some ways, such as higher tides than usual, etc.

I was outside and it was very hot. Only I didn’t live in the house I live in now. I lived in a little blue trailer, in a flat, dry desert. There were no trees around - No lush shrubbery, just dusty little scrub bushes dotting the landscape.

I was hanging clothes outside and listening to a portable radio, and old-fashioned white one that had a tinny sound. I was wearing a crisp white sleeveless shirt tied at the waist and denim capri slacks.

My hair was in ringlets, tousled and messy, instead of smooth and straight, and my skin was a dark brown from being in the sun all the time.

The station I was listening to interrupted the broadcast every so often to tell listeners where the stars were. The clothesline was anchored to an abandoned structure - a tall, flat thing that had probably been a porch on a large ranch house in better days, but the house had long since disappeared, and there was only this porch left standing for some reason. It was painted Santa Fe blue, which was faded and peeling in some places.

I watched the white shirts flipping and swaying in the hot wind, wondering ‘did they say the names of these stars?’ and thought of Orion as I felt the air suddenly grow cooler. ‘Is it going to rain?’ I thought, just as a drop of water hit my face. Then another and another, only this rain was falling sideways. ‘Hmm, that’s interesting’, I thought. Just then the radio blared ‘Here it comes people, take shelter!’ and on the horizon there appeared a gigantic gray sphere that looked like an asteroid, moving very fast. People came outside to watch, and I felt the wind start to move, like a bad storm. I heard the object coming closer and saw the shirts whipping frantically and noticed the world took on a deep blue hue, making the shirts look blindingly white. I bolted to the porch and hid behind one of the support beams, since my trailer was too far to reach now. And the star got closer…and I could see that it had craters. It looked like a tiny moon, and it moved silently and purposefully on its journey, oblivious to anything but the whims of its trajectory. On and on it went, passing as water from the opposing stars made rain hall horizontally, splashing everything with its stinging droplets. Then it passed and suddenly the scene changed to show a view of the Earth from Space, and the star I had seen was now moving around the Earth, as if it were caught up in Earth’s gravity - No mention of the other star, so I assumed it had moved past Earth and into oblivion.

Now I could see the topography of the Earth, and the star moving along the Earth’s circumference. And I was watching TV on a big screen in my trailer, which was odd because the trailer was simple and humble, yet I had this fancy TV on the wall. Anyway the TV said that the star I had observed had moved 2,000 miles in 10 minutes and would soon reach Australia, which it was expected to graze, and people may be killed, and the rest of us Earthlings were to brace for earthquakes and tremors. Then the star did hit Australia, causing a jolt and debris to fly about. The debris floated in Space in slow motion, and all was captured with a satellite view. The panorama showed the star hitting Australia and then just bouncing off the planet.

In the dream, colors got more vivid, although in shades of blue, gray, silver and turquoise. Moving faster now, having been freed from Earth’s gravity and freefalling through Space, the star  began approaching another planet, this one much larger than Earth, and far more advanced. It was a beautiful place, and there were shiny translucent objects of all sizes here and there. Some of these translucent objects were people, some were birds flying,  some were dogs and cats walking, some were buses and trains whizzing by. Apparently this civilization had learned how to travel by wearing some sort of computer device that allowed them to become thin and translucent, so they essentially became like holograms, thus moving at the speed of light if they wanted to. I heard voices; snippets of conversation. No one seemed to be paying attention to the approaching star - the one approaching their planet at rocket speed.

Then I noticed another star, and still another. “Here it comes!’ a little boy’s voice said, and the star came rushing to meet the ground. I expected a huge crash, but was surprised to see the star just bouncing on the surface like a rubber ball – silently. And the star had become quite small and the children on this planet had technology that allowed them to manipulate the environment as a form of video entertainment. And even as that star bounced, more stars and celestial objects came, bouncing, and I heard children’s laughter as they controlled the moon and stars for their amusement and pleasure.

Then I woke up.

Wow that was both fascinating and scary. Makes my dreams seem boring by comparison.

I see you delve in cosmic consciousness and create manifestations; as you did yours - dreams are just as real as waking consciousness; as consciousness is consciousness whether sleeping or awake... The notion is gaining more and more acceptance with quantum mechanics where wave = particle*vibration = matter = energy*space; for what its worth - what you see is what you get (wysiwyg). The misconceptions come from perceptions opinions and perspectives which tell us that energy manifestation should only occur one way - to the advantage of the group, ergo social dictates...

When visiting the consciousness between dusk and dawn you make create the perception perspective ~ Dream on and on there is an infinity of thought and meaning to explore; On your way now and enjoy your journey:)...

I enjoyed the piece... Thanks

who ARE you? that is freakin' amazing! i have indeed found that time of day to be a time where my mind is free and thoughts sort of free-fall and i gain a lot of insight as i just lie there and let it run about.

thanks for your comment.

You have quite an imagination, Cosette. Your subconsciousness is as sharp as a freakin' laser (Austin Powers plug). Your description of such is superb (not lip service) I want to see some more of fictional pieces if possible. You have a natural talent for the written word! Together, you and I can rule the world, mwahahaha! Just kidding...Maybe we'll start by improving it a bit :D This piece could well be made into a movie or a Twilight Zone episode perhaps.

i know (re: lip service). you are not like that, so no disclaimer needed. i had another dream that actually does read like a movie idea. i may just turn it into a screenplay, haha.

That sounds awesome! What a vivid dream. I especially like your depiction of the hologram civilization. Don't know where the heck your mind got that one from :) I haven't had a vivid dream in a long time. It's weird how you don't easily forget the strange feelings they evoke.
