My doctor told me that I need to eat several times a day because a person's metabolism kicks in every-time you eat. The key is to eat low-calorie meals and eat enough of carbohydrates and protein so that your body has enough energy throughout the day. If you find that your metabolism is sluggish you could have thyroid problem. I just discovered this last year and I still have a difficult time losing weight even though I'm on medication that is supposed to help me lose it. I think I'm finally learning at 40, that I'm no longer 20, I'm not ever going to be a supermodel and the only one I have to impress is my husband and he is. Therefore, eat, your body needs it and if you don't you could be setting yourself up for illnesses later in life including heart problems and eating disorders. Love your body, love yourself and be your own best friend.
