Toilet Cleaning

Toilets, we all use them but do we all clean them as well as they should be cleaned. I think I know the answer to that. Toilets do need to be cleaned and they need to be cleaned well. This hub has some simple steps for effective cleaning of your toilet.

Toilet Cleaning Tips

To prevent things falling in the toilet while cleaning, make sure you remove anything that is sitting atop.

Now take a damp sponge and give the toilet a good wipe down. With hot water moisten the sponge then wipe around the tank, lid, seat, base, and the exterior of the bowl. Doing this will help disperse the cleaning product by removing excesss dirt.

Get your toilet cleaner and squirt inside the bowl. Starting at the rim make sure you get the area under the lip of the bowl. Most cleaners work best if you allow them to soak on the bowl for a while.

Next take a toilet brush and give the toilet bowl a good scrub. Pay special attention to mineral stains that may accumulate along the water level and at the back of the bowl. Remember the more you scrub the bowl, the cleaner it will get.

Give the toilet a flush. This rinses the bowl and the brush. As the water drains from the toilet continue to scrub.

Spray the rest of the toilet with a disinfectant cleaner. Make sure to get both the top and bottom of the seat, and spray the entire exterior of the toilet. I suggest you use a paper towel to work in, and wipe away, the cleaner.

You should also clean the floor and tiles around the toilet with the disinfectant spray. Wipe the floor clean with paper towels or a cloth.
