Save on every flush

For those who don't have the new water saving toilets, did you know you can save over a half gallon of water per flush by simply putting a couple or three 20 oz. soda bottles full of sand in your toilet tank? Most of the older toilets have the big 4-5 gallon tanks and waste water every time you push the lever. Its not a new trick, its been around for many years but a lot of folks don't know or haven't heard about it yet. Back in the old days people put bricks in their tanks, all thats really necessary is something that is water proof and will fit inside the tank, and be heavy enough that it doesn't float, anything that will displace some of the volume. Think about it, whether your on a well or paying by the gallon for city water, a family of 4 will flush probably 20 times a day or more and saving half a gallon per flush can be a big deal when you add it up over the weeks and months. Plus you'll be doing your part at going green and helping the overall economy.
