Nutritious Tomato Soup in two diferent styles:
I am a big fan of tomato soup... that's why I decided to share these awesome tomato soup recipes on my hub. Tomato soup is tasty and a nutritious food to serve. As we all know that Tomato is a big source of calcium and fiber... besides it add a lot of taste to any food we use it with... I hope reading these recipes will make your mouth drool! and force you try cooking them..
Let us see the first way of making a nutritious and delicious tomato soup.
Ingredients:
- 4 Tomatoes
- 2 Onions
- 1 Carrot
- 1 Potato
- 1/2 cup shredded cabbage
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 cup boiled pasta
- 6 french beans
- 2 tbsp butter
- grated cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
Method:
Peel and chop the tomatoes, slice the onions and cut the carrot, potato and beans into thin shreds. Heat the butter in a pan and fry the onions, beans and carrot. Add 4 cups of water and the bay leaf and cook for 5 minutes. Add the potato, cabbage and tomatoes. Boil again for 10-15 minutes. Add the pasta, salt and pepper. Serve hot with the grated cheese.
Now lets see another way of making it.. a more spicy...or we can say it Tomato soup in Indian style...
Ingredients:
- 5 Tomatoes
- 1 chopped Onion
- 1 Carrot(chopped)
- 1 Potato(peeled and chopped)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2-3 cloves garlic chopped
- 1 piece ginger chopped
- 1/2-1 tsp red chilli powder
- grated cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
In 2tsp of butter, fry onion till transparent. Add chopped tomatoes, garlic, ginger and red chilli powder. Add potato and carrot for thickening. For greater nutritional value you can add 2 tsp of skinned green bean(mung dal).
Add 4 cups of water and a muslin bag containing 2-3 cloves, 1 stick of cinnamon, 1-2 bay leaves and 1 large black or 2 green cardamoms(split).
Boil the mixture. then simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Take out the muslin bag after squeezing it lightly.
Cool and liquidise mixture or take out through colander. If Liquidising, strain.
Add salt and pepper to taste and a little sugar if necessary.
Garnish with grated cheese and serve.
