Paul Mckenna
The world famous hypnotist Paul McKenna was born in Middlesex, United Kingdom on November the 6th 1963. Since then he has become a best selling author and one of England’s most famous sons.Paul McKenna burst onto a world stage with his “The Hypnotic World of Paul McKenna” television series. The show had celebrities play roles in funny scenarios alongside some audience members that Paul McKenna had hypnotized. At the age of 16 Paul McKenna began his career by taking a job at a local retail store as a DJ.
Seven years later he was working as a radio DJ with a promising career ahead of him. It was the time that Paul McKenna was working as a DJ that he developed a fascination with hypnosis. After a guest on his radio show demonstrated how hypnosis could be used for relaxation Paul McKenna was hooked. Soon he was using it for his own personal development and found that he had a natural gift for it.
Soon Paul McKenna had progressed to using his newly acquired hypnotic skills to entertain in pubs and clubs. Having a natural aptitude for hypnosis Paul McKenna found himself with requests for hypnotherapy weight loss sessions on a one-on-one basis. During this time Paul McKenna found employment with the biggest radio station in Britain by getting a spot on Radio One as his DJ skills were becoming more recognised. However, Paul McKenna wanted to pursue hypnosis and didn’t stay long.
This was a wise choice for McKenna because in 1993 the British channel ITV aired his first hypnotic show which became so popular it was seen in 42 countries. Paul McKenna was an instant hit as a stage hypnotist but never forgot the self improvement benefits of hypnosis. He created the McKenna Breen Ltd company with Michael Breen which produced seminars on nlp and hypnosis as well as a tape set. This was to be his first taste of product creation. In 2006, after a British paper, Daily Mail, alleged that Paul McKenna had obtained a bogus PhD so he could defraud the public, he sued them and received substantial damages.
The Daily Mail was referring to a PhD Paul McKenna was awarded by LaSalle University which thousands of students thought was accredited but was not. All the students, Paul McKenna included, were awarded compensation by the US Government! In addition to McKenna being an unknowing participant in the La Salle saga the daily Mirror did not point out that he had already attained another United Kingdom accredited doctorate in 2004 for the work carried out on “The Effects of Fixed Action Patterns and Neuro-Linguistic Programming in Determining Outcomes in Human Behaviour”!
However Paul McKenna is now best known for his vast array of books, hypnosis audio and multimedia products. Paul McKenna has hosted a multitude of television shows ranging from the “Paranormal World of Paul McKenna” where he investigated the weird and wonderful to “Paul McKenna Can Make You Thin” when he used the British public as subjects in his weight loss program! Paul McKenna tours frequently not only with his hypnotic shows but also presenting seminars in his weight loss program and neuro-linguistic programming.
The Key To Weight Loss In The Long Term - Appetite Suppression.
Many individuals are vociferous about the fact that they weigh ten or twenty pounds in excess of their desired weight. Some people find themselves needing to purchase new clothing because those from last year fit a little too snugly. However irritating, this can still be a great motivator in losing weight. However, some people find it difficult becoming motivated to change their lifestyles to avoid the long-term effects of being overweight. These are unfortunate people. They somehow should find methods to reduce weight. Otherwise they can suffer severe medical consequences.
Those who are obese have many alternatives if their goal is to lose weight and improve their overall well-being. Doctors can prescribe medications in severe instances for weight loss. But, the said drugs may trigger serious or even fatal reactions.
Unintended consequences, like damage to heart or lungs can be the byproduct of drugs taken as part of a self-help weight losing plan. Due to the complications involved with taking these medications some people who took them before they were banned have experienced difficulties which necessitated heart and lung transplants.
Fad dieting is an alternate self-development method for losing weight which is tried often by people. Fad diets, such as low-carbohydrate diets, claim to assist people in reducing weight in a very short span of time. If those extra pounds are not lost in the correct manner, it is very common to quickly find that the weight is back again. Sadly enough, a few individuals complain of health setbacks due to these diets.
Strenuous exercise is seen as an alternative weight loss strategy by some people. The problem is that over strenuous exercise can actually be harmful to the body. Additionally, people who work-out over strenuously usually exercise to endurance rather than fitness levels, and so cause their bodies to enter anaerobic metabolism mode.
This is a scientific method which explains that the body no longer burns calories normally once it enters Anaerobic mode. When you reduce calories too much, the body thinks it is starving and the metablolism slows in order to preserve fat and energy. Thus, this person in fact encourages his or her body to retain extra calories and pounds, instead of helping the body to reduce weight.
The best method of losing weight, as agreed by many experts, is to decrease the amount of calories a person consumes everyday. Contrary to popular belief, most overweight men and women are actually trying to lose weight and working toward that goal. Most behaviour modification programs for appetite suppression and weight loss focus on suggesting that people pinpoint their reasons for overeating. Clients use a number of methods to control their appetites, including keeping journals, finding healthy foods, and talking about reasons why they overeat.

Additionally, visual imagery can be effective in helping build the powerful motivation which is needed to change one's lifestyle for permanent weight loss.
Hypnosis for weight loss is actually cheaper than many other therapies that aim to control the appetite. Purchasing a hypnosis weight loss CD can be one of the least expensive methods to reap the benefits of this approach.
People can listen to these hypnosis weight loss CDs whenever they want leisurely in their own home, where temptations to overeat may often be the strongest. In this way, associations between home and effective methods for weight loss can be created. This enhances the effects of hypnotherapy techniques for losing weight.
Appetite suppression, a key component in Ericksonian weight loss hypnotherapy, is one of the best methods for losing weight.
