Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a psychological disorder that causes a person to have a difficulty concentrating on one thing for a long time. It’s probably not much to be afraid of, because it can’t kill. It’s a common misconception, but as common as it is misunderstood the common it is present among people. According to statistics, about 3 to 5% of children below 7 years old worldwide have been diagnosed with ADHD and about 30 to 50% of them carry this to adulthood. The percentage doesn’t even include those who don’t know they have the disorder and doesn’t get diagnosed with it. It is quite epidemic in a worldwide scale, so awareness and knowledge of it are important. Those will be your Tools to ADHD in order to cope with it.

            How do you know you have ADHD? Well there are two classifications to it; Childhood ADHD and Adult ADHD. They are separated not because of the age bracket. No because they are two different grounds with different characteristics. Childhood ADHD involves disabilities in the areas of Mathematics, English and other major fields of study. It also involves Developmental Psychology which focuses on the development of a child’s brain. Adult ADHD involves more complex fields like sociology, which talks on the lifestyles and interactions of man, and biopsychology, which talks on how biological processes affect the personality. There is no defined cause to ADHD. It could be in one’s genes, nutrition, environment, and even in one’s community. Specialists could only form theories and speculations about it as of now.

            Of course, your major Tool to ADHD is being aware of the signs. It is defined; it is classified; now it’s time to go deeper. Typically, you easily get distracted, you can’t focus on something boring, you squirm on your seat, you can’t stay at one spot for a few minutes, you are constantly at motion whatever you are doing, you are impatient, you are having a struggle following instructions. Sounds something out of a horoscope, but it’s just to give you the idea. The following signs are prevalent among youngsters with ADHD. When they carry this to Adulthood, it becomes probably worse. It could become learning disabilities, lifestyle degeneration, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, mood disorders, and depression. They key to this disorder is being aware of it. The Idea of coping with the disease might sound hard but the effort to it counts.
