Smells like teen spirit, still one of my favourites :D
Hello thre, I wanted to give you my favorite songs of the 90's, in no particular order:
Alice in Chains - Love Hate Love -This song is the masterpiece of AIC. The dynamics of the song are incredible, the mood and tempo are intricatley woven into a seemless melody of ups and downs. Lane Staley haunts the music with his signiture growling harmonies.
Bush - Everything Zen - Kick ass song with with pure aggression, distorted guitar effects and an ironic subject matter.
Weezer - Undone (Sweater Song) - this is just a pure party rock songs, no frills just strait ahead fun.
Offspring - Self Esteem - Great melody and subject about a guy who lets his neighbor use him for sex.
Nirvana - Lithium - I think this is one of the best songs of the ninties due to the lyrical content, the subject matter and the dynamics of Kurt's guitar.
Soundgarden - Jesus Christ Pose - Soundgarden has gained huge popularity for it;s drop D tuning and Chris's unbelievable voice, but where is the love for the drummer and the odd time signitures on this song and album? Take a listen to the work on this songs and musicianship of everyone involved to create an interesting and thrilling song.
Green Day - Lonview - Song about masterbation that makes you sing the praises of self gratification. Oh, and the song rawks too.
Toadies -Possum Kingdom - This one is a little less popular but kicks ass just as much as the rest. There is incredible tones and emotion sang throught the songs and anyone who hasn;t heard it needs to take a listen...immediatly.
Peal Jam - Evenflow - I'm with you on that one.
Pantera - Walk - This is much heavier than the rest but it is one brutal piece of art. The simplicity of the riff and the the way Phil anselmo belts out the lyrics is awe-inspiring.
