Every time I'm flipping through the radio, I constantly hear the same ten songs being played over and over! It's annoying! Sure, the songs may have good beats, but have you ever stopped and listened to the lyrics?
Okay, some songs may be hard to comprehend but seriously. Songs about "ice cream paint jobs" and "Jerkin'"? I'm not trying to diss these artists. Hell, I give them props for writing such dumb lyrics, putting a good beat to it and making millions off of them.

4.) Dorrough- Ice Cream Paint Job- WTF is up with that title??

7.) Jeremih- Birthday Sex
8.) Lady GaGa- Poker Face- I know she isn't considered hip hop, but since Power 106 plays her stuff, I think she fits the category.
9.) Kid Cudi- Day N' Night
10.) Young Money ft Lil Wayne- Every Girl
I don't mean to sound like a cynic. I've just realized how much music has changed over the years. It used to mean something. Music used to touch people and inspire people. When I look at what we call "music" now or the crap we hear on the radio, its a little disappointing. I love all kinds of music but not it makes me think that artists have lost their touch or don't know what to write about anymore. Okay, I'm going to stop complaining, but here is my list of the most overplayed songs!

LOL why am I not surprised that you used to break dance?? Back in the day, my uncles and cousins would break dance and sport those parachute pants. I agree, music isn't like what it used to be anymore =(

I Agree with your list and the way you feel i think hip hop music has become a deflated form of its creation. Im only 22 but I have older brothers so i was raised on the early hip hop and I am hip hop artist also who feels the pressure to make terrible music to get heard. But i dont and the result i have to use other methods of expression to keep me from going crazy.lol but i really enjoyed this keep up the good work..

Lmao! I know! "Ice Cream Paint Job" has a nice beat, I admit...but...not much meaning behind it. Or any songs nowadays for that matter...Sadly, music has strayed away from inspirational, and finding that special someone to "love" not to lust over. I miss music from Jodeci and Boyz II Men and Babyface, even Whitney Houston and Celine Dion. Where is the romance nowadays? It's just club scenes, booze and girls!
I really like day n nite by kid cudi, I think it's a great song with the most amazing dancing beats I've ever heard in a song before.
Howeevr I do agree that radio stations tend to go overkill whilst playing them and turn a good song, bad, by playing it too much and making people become repelled to it.

I loathed this stuff too! Not that I hate hip-hop, I just hate the new stuff. It's not for me. Back in the day, I use to breakdance with my brothers and his friends. Yup, I didn't stutter! Truth be told, back then every kid was breakdancing and didn't matter who you were, what you looked like or where you came from. It was just another way of expressing yourself I guess...And sadly yes, I AM that old;) New music sucks!
