1. Singapore has little or no corruption in the running of the government. This is somewhat good compared to other countries out there where the government does not think of their people’s needs. 8. It’s nice to rest and relax when you retire and have some money to spend by yourself without having your children to give you monthly allowances. The Central Provident Fund, helps to save up money for your retirement by transferring 10% of your monthly salary to your account. 10. Joining the army is a compulsory thing for every male citizen when they reach 18 years of age. This helps to inculcate rootedness to the country and loyalty. Many foreign countries make joining the defence force voluntary but the working conditions and pay is unacceptable. In Singapore, the government understands that every male citizen has to undergo the army so staying conditions are one of the best in the defence force and their pay is above par, ranging from S$400 for a recruit to about S$1500++ for a sergeant monthly.
