The Richest Have Lost Their Money TOO QUICKLY
Please note that the net worth of the above-mentioned richest people is as of March 2009. As You all know how recession has affected the lives and incomes of both the rich and the poor, similarly it has hurt these richest people quite badly and their incomes, share prices and the worth of their assets has dropped big time. The net worth of these people as mentioned in this article is not what it was a couple years back. Worth of Bill Gates's assets only is reduced by about 18 to 20 billion USD. Warren Buffett and Carlos Slim Helú lost $25 billion EACH!, and that too in just one year. The richest people have lost more money than we can imagine. Their collective net worth is $2.4 trillion, down $2 trillion from a year ago. Interestingly, out of 1125 billionaires who made Forbes list last year, 373 are no more on the list, mostly because they have lost the fortune they made due to recession which hit the world so bad.

I just think Bill Gates is brilliant! From what I have read about him he is a real person with a big heart! Very spiritually inclined as well. Obiously they have all found a good niche!
lol. Yes Ethel, they can afford to lose quite a bit more than a little. Even if they lose 90% of their money, they can still live a luxurious life and it will be hard for them to finish the remaining money in their life time.
Rite Jodi. And he gives big amounts of money to charities regularly. You must have heard about Bill and Malinda Gates Fund which he and his wife Malinda has made and it is helping the people in need.
If only I had 1% of what they had, I would be happy.
1% of their combined worth annvans? lol
I guess the more money you have the more troubles you have too...like wondering how to spend it.
You are right Miss Match. I know an easy remedy of the problem of wondering, how and where to spend it and that is " Give your money to charity".
I like that!after all the more you give..the more you get back:)[not material things but the feeling from helping people in need is priceless]
Rite! You get material things too, as ... I hope you noticed that Warren Buffet became the richest person on earth from second richest after announcing 31 billion US Dollars as charity to Bill & Malinda Gates Fund. His net worth was estimated $62 billion which is exactly the double of 31(31x2=62). So rings some bells for me.
great hub i want to strive to be on this list one day lol! You never know....
Hey thanx for the comment... I will love to edit it once you are there... Will like to put you up for one of these. :D
i dont think these guys r affected a lot by recession
it is indeed a blessing to be wealthy but it is also great help the destitute in africa. anyway i wish very and i hope that they would be considerate enough to bless the africans who cannot afford a decent life.
Nice rich list UH =). Especially on the Google owners. And they're bachelors too =). I was assigned in Google for one month when I worked in California. That Google-plex is really something. When my friend found out, the first thing she told me was that the owners are single and rich! =)
LOL and to many women's dislike Sergey Brin is no more a bachelor. His wife is Anne Wojcicki who is also working on a very interesting and useful project. :)
I am glad you liked it emievil, thanx for the comment. :)
Oooohhh, I'm late for the news LOL. Last time I heard they were both still dating women =). Too bad. But they're great guys and they're kind of down-to-earth / simple ones. I mean Sergey Brin (I think) plays soccer with his people while they both eat in the Google cafeteria =). *trivia* *trivia* LOL
You're welcome. Hope to read more of your hubs.
what will they do with so much money? I think I am happy with my little job and a happy family
emdi, maybe its more about the passion than spending the money. Some people have this thing in them that they want to be the number one at whatever they do or at least want to be within the top ten.
LOL, yea emieievil, I have also heard about them being down-to-earth.
One day i belive i am going to be rich like themm.. I want to have allots of money to give to the orphanage.
