Top 10 Twitter Marketing Tips
63Here's All You Need To Know To Get Twitter Running Smoothly
Twitter has quickly become the next place to "hang out". Where the masses are is where the money is. That does not mean go out and spam everyone with your product. Twitter is a social media site, which means people are there to hang out, build relationships, and get to know other people. There is an old say that "Everyone loves to buy but everyone hates to be sold." Speaking from personal experience I would say that is true.
So once you've created relationships, built trust and offered someone great value...then they will buy from you. I want to share with you some great tips to save you money and time.
Top 10 Twitter Marketing Tools
Twitter Tip #1: www.tweetdeck.com If you do or get nothing else that I recommend, then please go get this software. It is absolutely amazing. You can create groups for those that you want to follow more closely as well as so much more. If you want to take Twitter serioulsy then you need this tool, it is a must.
Twitter Tip #2: www.tweetlater.com Here is a fabulous tool that allows you type in tweets you would like to go out at any time in the future. It also allows you autofollow all those that are following you, saving you precious time.
Twitter Tip #3: http://bit.ly Twitter’s big thing is brevity so you are limited to 140 characters to “tweet”. This means long urls take up too many characters so with this tool you are able to shorten your long urls as well as keep track of how many people click on each shortened url. After all you want to know what’s working so stats are a good thing.
Twitter Tip #4: www.killertweets.com & www.twitbacks.com When marketing on the internet it is very important to be creating a “personal brand.” You can easily do this getting a background that fits who you are and what you are about. Make sure it fits YOU! Killertweets has some awesome looking backgrounds but cost $9 or more. Twitbacks is free but not quite as good looking.
Twitter Tip #5: www.twellow.com This is essentially a “yellow pages” for everyone that is on twitter. You have the ability to find those that live near you or those that have the same interests as you and allows you follow them right from there.
Twitter Tip #6: http://dossy.org/twitter/karma This site allows you to “unfollow” all those that are not following you back. Twitter has a limit ratio of those that you are following to those that are following you. The limit is that at about 2000 followers you can only be following 10% more than that. So you can only follow 2200 and you will then be stopped from following anyone else. This obviously is not a good thing since it will limit your interaction with new people. So use this tool to get rid of all those not following you.
Twitter Tip #7: www.Twollo.com This site is used for following those that have the same interests as you but in an automated format. Let’s say you are into rock climbing, you can type “rock climbing” into the system and how many people you want to follow that are also interested in rock climbing.
Twitter Tip #8: http://mytwittertoolbar.com This is a great toolbar that has 100 Twitter tips and some other cool things you can use to simplify things.
Twitter Tip #9: Don’t spam people! Everyone hates it and it doesn’t work.
Twitter Tip
#10: Finally, make
sure you have filled out all the appropriate sections in your Settings
area. Be sure to have a clickable link
for your url and fill out the bio section so that it matches who you are, what
you are about and what you have to offer to others.
The key to marketing on Twitter, or for that matter anywhere, is to be you. Don't try to be someone you're not..."People can smell a phony a mile away" and they can!
