There's a song out there that can encompass just about every human emotion and feeling. A lot of times when you're feeling down music has a way of helping you work through those problems, especially when it comes to heart ache and agony over relationships.

There's plenty of lists about the saddest songs about love - but not too often do you see one dedicated to unrequited love songs. What is unrequited love? As Charlie Brown says it best "Nothing takes the taste out of peanut butter like unrequited love." It is when you love somebody, but they just don't love you back.

Shiver - Coldplay

This song, with lyrics such as "So I look in your direction, But you pay me no attention, And you know how much I need you, But you never even see me", is all about loving someone who doesn't feel the same way.

Creep - Radiohead

The song starts out saying "You're just like an angel, Your skin makes me cry" and goes into "But I'm a Creep. I'm a Weirdo..."

I Can't Make You Love Me - Bonnie Rait

If you're ever in need of a swooning country song about someone not loving you,, this is the perfect song for you.

All Over You - Spill Canvas

The lyrics to this song couldn't possibly be any more basic about unrequited love with lyrics like "This life is way too short to get caught up in all this stuff when i just want you to love me back...why can't you just love me back?"

Strange and Beautiful - Aqualung

This is an eerily beautiful song about putting a spell on someone to fall in love with you when they don't even know you exist.

You Don't Know Me - Ray Charles

Ray Charles is a musical legend, and it just wouldn't be right to not include this song about loving someone who sees you just as a friend.

Lily - Smashing Pumpkins

I am not certain that this song is about unrequited love - but chances are if you're being arrested for sitting in a tree outside your lover's window it can't be too good of a situation.

Catch the Wind - Donovan

As the name of this song suggests, it is easier to catch the wind than to make someone feel the same way about you as you feel about them.

Teenage Dirtbag - Wheatus

This is one of those songs perfect for the teenage boy on love with a girl who's already got a boyfriend.

I Want You to Want Me - Cheap Trick

Another song where the title says it all.
