Top 10 places not to visit in Texas
63I have seen lists on Hubpages of places to visit in Texas, so I thought I would create a list of places not to visit, I hope its good.
10) The original house that appeared in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre was located in my hometown of Round Rock Texas. The house was located at the top of County rd 172 in Williamson County, the road was approximately 3 miles long and ended at FM 1325. It was just a family home that was used as a prop for the film and has since been moved from its original location to Marble falls Texas where it is now a Bar B Que restaurant! Give that some thought and see if it makes your list.
9) Any prison in Texas and we got lots to choose from!
8) Telephone Road in Houston Texas, this may not be as bad as it once was, but it was damn sure bad! Lots of gunfights to entertain the kiddies!
7) The Chicken Ranch in La Grange Texas, You may know it better as "The best little whorehouse in Texas" it ain't there anymore!
6) The "Dixie Chicken" in College Station, Texas! Them Aggies ain't right!!
5) Sandra Bullocks Mansion in Austin, Texas, it ain't there anymore either!
4) El Paso, Texas, you may get hit by a stray bullet!
3) Waco,Texas, no not because of the Branch dividians, its just the most boring place on earth! Unless you really like Dr Pepper!
2)Round Rock, Texas, my hometown! It is named after a round rock that was a marker on the Chisum Trail, the Train robber who still holds the record for money stolen in a Train Robbery ($60,000) Sam Bass was killed in a gunfight with several Texas Rangers in down town Round Rock. They have reenactments every year in July, do you have any clue how hot it is in Texas in JULY???? Trust me don't come!
1) And finally the number one place to not visit in Texas, My house! If I didn't invite you stay away!! Unless you're a pretty girl!

I agree with your list Texan! LOL! I live just outside Round Rock myself. Small world, big state.
Sherry I said pretty girls are always welcome!
rsmallory where bouts you live?
You are too funny! Someone that is so serious about politics yet has such a great sense of humor. I have lived in Central Texas all my life and I still have not made it to the Alamo.
You know that fake holstein cow that was in the 2nd Chainsaw Massacre movie was our family cow! They were driving by our dairy during the filming and offered money to rent our fake cow. My mom takes it wherever she lives. It now resides in Coupland.
I haven't seen that movie in years, I remember the amusement park was on the other side of Georgetown "the Matterhorn" its since been torn down. I don't remember the Holstein it was a baaaaaaaaaaaaad movie! But I know Coupland, use to go dancing there a lot! Is the Dance hall still open?
The dance hall is still open and they have a darn good steak there as well. I agree very bad movie. I loved the Matterhorn...watched someone blow glass there many, many years ago. I was pretty young but I still remember it. There were some pretty interesting places to visit around Central Texas back then. Not so much anymore.
This whole list started because I saw one that listed Austin as in South Texas, I just thought there were too many cool places there just must be bad places too and here is a partial list!
There are still some neat places
Innerspace cavern, Hutto?
Longhorn Cavern
Good Hub Lad I heard about telephone rd in Houston when I was processing on my way to the big I...
like I said I don't know if it is as bad as it once was but it was bad! Thanks for reading
I gotta get down to Texas sometime, Tex. It sounds really interesting. What do you guys hunt down there, anyway?
Small deer oddly enough, that whole bigger in Texas does not apply to them! But next month starts Dove season and they get big, and hogs are always in season and you can hunt them with anything!
I'm not much of a bird hunter, but I wouldn't mind testing my crossbow against a hog or two. I know them bores can get pretty mean.
I would use more than a crossbow, thems mean critters!
An excellent travelogue! Thanks for the tips! :-)
You are very welcome James, I wasn't kidding about hot in July. The only thing worse is August!
Nice work--I promise to stay away from all of them (including your house). Would sure like to see a few photos on your Hubs, though. Even a single shot (pun intended in reference to gunfights) of the "No Trespassing" sign in front of your house would have been great for this one.
I am not good at the photo thing, but I will try. Thanks for reading
Good hub, Tex. I enjoyed reading it!
Thanks habee come around anytime
I'm really disappointed that you included Waco in your list. :(
I'm sorry It was all just a joke, anybody who reads this visit Waco its not as boring as I said!
Oh, it's as boring as you said, I'm just disappointed it was on the list. LMAO
I couldn't resist. I have lots of Waco-related hubs, including Dr. Pepper if anyone is interested in finding out what Waco has to offer.
Being a fellow Texan (far NE) I can relate to this one! Really funny!
Thanks for reading
