There are hundreds of places you can travel, and everyone has their own opinion of what the top ten vacation destinations are. However, the top ten vacation destinations depend on when you are vacationing and what your purpose is. For example, the top ten skiing vacation destinations are going to be far different than the top ten beach vacation destinations. So, let's take a look at some of the top vacation destinations all over the world based on reviews, what they have to offer, and more.

The following are some of the best vacation destinations depending on your goals, the time of year, and what you enjoy. A perfect vacation for the outdoors type is going to be a world of difference from the pampered girl's top vacation destination, so this is a great mix of all of those put together.

Mexico: Year Round

The number one vacation destination for families is Mexico. There are tons of vacation packages and deals to Mexico out there, many of them for really low rates, which is one of the reasons it makes such a great family destination. Families need budget friendly destinations, but also ones that offer so much more, and that is exactly what you get with Mexico, almost no matter where you go. There are beautiful and exotic beaches, a fun night life, history and culture to be absorbed and enjoyed, and every terrain and landscape you could ever want, from deserts, mountains, jungles, and more. Guadalajara and Acapulco are two favorite tourist spots in Mexico. So, whether you are the outdoors type, or the kind of person that wants to soak up rays of sunshine, Mexico is an awesome vacation destination.



Hawaii: Year Round

The next best vacation destination for couples, families, or even solos is Hawaii. This is one of the most visited places in the world because of it pleasant climate, amazing volcanoes, warm hospitality, and most of all, its beautiful beaches. It is ripe with culture, sunshine, and plenty of fun activities for every interest and person. So, now you just have to choose an island that best meets your needs. If you want the tourist side, but still get history, culture, and the ability to hit nature when wanted, go to the Big Island. If you want to still have all the tourist options, but find life a little less crowded, then Maui might be a better option, and if you want a little more rugged terrain, Kauai is probably best.

London: Summer

London is an incredible vacation spot in the height of summer. London is infamous for gloomy weather forecasts most of the year, so when the weather is nice as it is in the summer, the best comes out in the people. You get music, dancing, eating, drinking, and all sorts of fun. There are always a whole bunch of events ranging from outdoor theater and music shows to special exhibitions and oddball festivals. You could spend the entire day filled with festivals and parties, or you can visit some of the royal city parks, including Hyde or Regent's. Take a picnic, or just enjoy the sunshine lush greenery of the famous English gardens. English gardens are know for their splendor, like the magnificent Queen Mary's Rose Gardens in Regent's Park. Of course in the evenings there are often outdoor productions of classic plays, music, dancing, and plenty of restaurants with verandas to enjoy. And if you enjoy shopping, London has its fair share of shops. So, go ahead and enjoy the summer in London.

Thailand: Year Round

Thailand has been termed the `Land of Smiles'. It is a great vacation destination, and makes top ten because of the many things it has to offer for a reasonable price. You will find that the natives are very friendly and generally like visitors. You will receive excellent customer service when visiting Thailand, thus making your stay comfortable as well as fun. If you are someone interested in learning about other cultures and civilizations then Thailand is the perfect vacation destination as it is rich with culture, and beautiful in its own unique way. There are many exotic sights and sparklingly beautiful temples, places to enjoy natures, shops, and more.

National Parks: Generally a Summer Vacation

Generally summer is the time of year when you simply want to head into the great outdoors. The national parks we have across the country make doing this fun, educational, and entertaining. The US has 388 national parks, all of which offer great hiking, outdoor sports, and fun. However, two of the most spectacular ones-the Grand Canyon and Yosemite-offer more than hiking and fun. The Grand Canyon is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and is truly a sight to behold. If you have never taken time to visit, you are missing out. It is a vast abyss of multi-hued canyon walls. It is about 277 miles long and as much as a mile deep. The Colorado River chiseled the Grand Canyon out over millions of years, and has left a beautiful place to enjoy nature while vacationing. Yosemite National Park is a preserve of breathtaking Sierra Nevada valley-and-mountain scenery. You get granite rock formations, giant sequoia trees, wildlife, and beautiful waterfalls to enjoy and take in. You can hike it, bike it, or take it by raft.

New York City - Year Round, but is cold in winter

The City that Never Sleeps, is what New York is referred to as because there is something open and something to do all night long. It is a city known for great architecture, lots of history, an incredible night life, diversity within a few blocks of each other, great street vendors, farmer's markets, and more. New York City has tons of different sites sure to please any vacationer. You can visit Ellis Island, The Empire State Building, The Statue of Liberty, and so on. With so many places to visit, activities to do, sights to see, and places to eat at, New York City is tourist heaven, and makes for a great couple vacation, family vacation, or solo vacation destination.

Amador County, California: Summer, Spring, or Fall


This is quite a picturesque destination spot. You get lazy rolling hills, beautiful oak trees, and a granite outcroppings. These three cities were big during the Gold Rush, and now serve as a window into its Gold Rush past. You will find that many of the old Victorian houses have been converted into bed and breakfasts, which make a perfect place to stay and enjoy the sites. Such sites include mining tours, museums, and of course, since it is located only 55 miles southeast of Sacramento, you can take a day trip into the city for shopping, dining, and night life. So you get the beset of both worlds with an Amador County, CA vacation.


Las Vegas: Year Round

Las Vegas is called Sin City, but it can also be a great family vacation spot. How? Well, Las Vegas offers a little something for just about anyone. There is gambling (of course), but there is also live shows, concerts, gondola rides, water shows, shopping, dining, roller coasters and other amusement park type rides, animals, magic, etc. It is like a one-stop destination for endless activities, cheap hotel rooms, and inexpensive buffet meals. You can have a fun vacation with limited funds, and who knows? Maybe even go home richer after scoring big at one of the tables or slot machines.

Montreal: Summer (July)

Montreal's joie de vivre is most visible in summer. During the summer the whole place is alive with festivals and celebrations, and you get lots of tourists coming out to join in the fun. Locals do not seem to mind, and if you go at the right time, (early July) you may even be there for some of the eleven days of non-stop musical entertainment, otherwise known as the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal. During this time the streets of Montreal are closed, and there are hundreds of free outdoor concerts in the town. A little later in July Montreal boasts the world's largest comedy festival, Just for Laughs, featuring some 1,000 performances from top-name comics. You will be rolling in your seat. You also get to enjoy beautiful scenery, warm summer air, great outdoor cafes and more. Montreal is a great place to visit any time of year, but July is the most active time for the city.

New England: Late Summer


Whether you are staying in a beach house on the Cape, or at a cottage at inland lakes, you are going to love New England as a vacation destination. There are several small town events during the time between the July 4 and Labor Day holiday, that you can enjoy, as well as awesome food. New England is known for its seafood, from clam bakes to lobster feasts, your tummy will be happy, and your wallet not even dented. You can peruse antique shops, walk around these quaint towns enjoying the sunshine, visit the Tanglewood Music Festival in the Berkshires (July-Aug.), or hike and bike the beautiful ocean of the Outer Cape. Of course you can try your hand at sailing windjammers in Camden and yachts in scenic Marblehead. Of course if it is the night life you are into, you will want to head for Provincetown, or P-town as the locals call it, where you can throw back a beer, dance, and have a great time.
