Top 20 Events Which Prove Obama Is A Marxist Communist
75At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it? Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. At what point, then, is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.
- Abraham Lincoln, January 27, 1838
In several Hubs, including How Obama's Undeniably Marxist Communist Policies Threaten America and How To Nationalize GM, Ripoff Investors, Gift It To The Unions & Deny It's Communism, I have been challenged by commenters on my classification of Barack Hussein Obama as a socialist, communist, and Marxist. Here are the top twenty points to prove my thesis (all readily verifiable), and please note that I am not including in this list any of the President's policies such as the socialist nationalization of GM and Chrysler which at the stroke of a pen deprived private investors of billions of dollars of their legitimate property and turned it over to the state and the unions (the proletariat in Marxist parlance).
- Obama admits attending socialist conferences and reading Marxist literature. He stated that he "chose his friends carefully... the Marxist professors... we were resisting resisting bourgeois society’s stifling constraints."
- Frank Marshall Davis to whom Obama refers to as "Frank" and with whom the young Obama "had a close relationship, almost like a son" is publicly identified as a prominent member of the Communist Party USA and an acknowledged Stalinist agent.
- Obama held receptions at the home of, and served on boards with, another mentor who has had an indelible influence on his world view: William Ayers along with his wife Bernardine Dohrn. The two were leaders of the terrorist group known as the Weathermen or the Weather Underground, notable for a campaign from 1969 through the middle 1970s of riots, bombings, murders, and a jailbreak. Under Ayers and Dohrn's leadership, the terrorist organization bombed the United States Capitol on March 1, 1971, The Pentagon on May 19, 1972, and the United States Department of State Building on January 29, 1975. Their founding document calls for "the destruction of US imperialism and achieve a classless world: world communism." When recently asked about his terrorist activities, Ayers replied he had "no regrets" and that "we didn't do enough".
- At one Obama reception at the Ayers Dohrn home Alice Palmer, who was identified by the FBI as being on Soviet payroll in the Eighties and an enthusiastic attendee of the 27th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, announced that she was stepping down from office as Obama was her chosen successor.
- Mike Klonsky was funded to the tune of $1,968,718.00 by an organization headed by Obama and Ayers. His father, Robert Klonsky, was an American communist who was convicted for advocating the forcible overthrow of the United States government. Mike founded a precursor of the Weatherman terrorist group, formed the American Communist Party (Marxist/Leninist), was feted in China by Maoists, and spoke in front of Hugo Chavez for the need to bring the Marxist revolution into the classroom.
- Obama admits that one of his close friends was Rashid Khalidi, who was the President of Columbia University's Communist Party and a former spokesperson for the PLO. They had frequent dinners together and the Obamas even babysat Khalidi's children. Obama led organizations funded the Arab American Action League an organization calling for the demolition of Israel and chaired by Khalidi's wife. Khalidi held successful fundraisers for Obama's campaign.
- Che Guevara who advocated the "extermination" of the United States, and was involved in a foiled plot to bomb crowded department stores and New York City's Grand Central Terminal, had his portraits hung on the precinct captain' wall of Obama headquarters in Houston. The campaign formally only stated that it was "inappropriate."
- During the presidential election campaign, Hamas advisor Ahmed Yousef was quoted as saying, "We like Mr. Obama. We hope he will win the election." Hamas is dedicated to the destruction of Israel and is on the US State Department list of leftist terrorist organizations.
- The Communist Party USA actively supported Obama during the primary election and their leader Sam Webb recently stated: "Just look at the new lay of the land: a friend of labor and its allies sits in the White House." He went on to enthusiastically discuss Obama's agenda to nationalize the American financial system, the Federal Reserve Bank, and private industries such as energy and various other sectors. "All these – and many other things – are within OUR reach now... an opportunity of a lifetime," Webb exclaimed.
- Obama's father wrote a thesis entitled "Problems With Our Socialism" that advocates 100% taxation of the rich, communal ownership of land and the forced confiscation of privately controlled land.
- Obama's mother was a communist sympathizer from her youth. Obama has spoken of her beliefs: "The values she taught me continue to be my touchstone when it comes to how I go about the world of politics."
- Obama's parents met in a Russian language class, generally unusual in the USA of the Fifties, but a common activity for communists in that age.
- Barack Obama's older brother, Abongo "Roy" Obama is a militant Marxist Muslim who has made a pact with a hard-line Islamic group in Kenya to establish Shari'a law. Barack calls his brother "the person who made me proudest of all."
- Obama's grandparents moved 2,000 miles so Obama's mother could attend a school where communism was openly advocated and whose chairman testified to being a member of the Communist Party. Obama's grandparents also attended a church known as "The Little Red Church" due to its promotion of communism.
- Obama received the endorsement of the Chicago branch of the Democratic Socialists of America for an Illinois state senate seat in 1996.
- Obama delivered an eulogy for Saul Mendelson, a lifelong communist activist.
- Obama's physican, close friend and supporter Dr. Quentin Young was a prominent member of the communist Bethune Club.
- Obama's church, the Trinity United Church of Christ, is a leading proponent of Liberation Theology which is an religious overlay onto Marxism.
- Obama admits that he regularly attended communist conferences at Cooper Union College.
- Obama endorsed Bernie Sanders, who was the first self-described socialist to be elected to the U.S. Senate. The National Journal's 27th annual vote ratings placed only one Senator who had voted a more socialistic agenda than Sanders: Obama.
I leave you with the warning words of Russian Prime Minister and former KGB agent Vladimir Putin, who should certainly understand the essence of communism:
Interference of the State, the belief in the omnipotence of the State: that is a reaction to market failures. There is a temptation to expand direct interference of state in economy. In the Soviet Union that became an absolute. We paid a very dear price for that.
As a Canadian citizen I proudly state: God bless America... God save America... Before it is too late.

You can count on me to keep the torch of Liberty burning bright! Thanks for your support! I need all I can get! :)
Another very informative and important hub Hal. Always glad to know some really do see the truth.
Thank you as well for your support! Please continue to do everything in your power to open the eyes of your fellow Americans! I will be more than happy to assist in any way I can!
You convinced me brother. Well put. You put forth the evidence and now the jury must decide. I vote to convict.
Thanks, James A Watkins. In several other Hubs, I've laid down the gauntlet, seeking hard factual evidence to prove Obama is not a Marxist Communist. Well, no one has picked up that gauntlet to date. Wonder why, huh? :)
Hal, You did a good job and I hope those who were blind and deaf before, now will think and ponder. I myself don't need all this proving, I was able to see clearly what Obama was and therefore I did not vote for him. God bless America, God help America.
Thanks, ReuVera. All of us who actually recognize the dire peril that the country is in should try to organize in some way to try and spread the word! I'm more than open to suggestions!
Hal, I have to say these hubs sounds like churlishness to me. You don't like his policies so you are attempting to smear him. Even if - as you assert - he does turn out to be a Marxist, the fact is he was democratically elected and has the right to institute whatever policies he thinks are right. The last US president was a front for the oil lobby and instituted torture as state policy. There's nothing inherently wrong with Marxism anyway. It is a form of proto-sociology, an analysis of capitalism. You can no more blame Marx for the state of post-war communism, than you can blame Adam Smith for the inequities and violence of free-market capitalism. But shall I tell why I'm convinced he's NOT a Marxist? The last time there was a Marxist in the White House was Salvador Allende in Chilli, and he was murdered in a CIA-backed coup on September 11th 1973. If Obama was a Marxist he'd be dead by now.
"nothing inherently wrong with Marxism anyway"
Wow, dude. You lost me completely right there. With all due respect, I cant argue with anyone who makes that statement. :(
http://www.squidoo.com/Neo-Marxism-in-America
Great job, glad to find like minded people who are willing to speak out about this...
Thanks for the link to the lens Jana67. I've tried to keep Alinsky more or less out of this conversation as Obama's relationship with him is worthy of its own Hub, which I'll likely do in the near future.
Cheap trick Hal, but now go back to my previous point. Is he or is he not democratically elected? (Unlike the previous incumbant, you might say.) Are you a democrat too? It is normal in a democracy to accept the result of elections and to allow whoever gets into power the opportunity to implement their policies, whatever they are. As I say, these hubs are just churlish.
Not a cheap trick, at all, Whitstable Views. Having lived in a former Iron Curtain country as well as in Venezuela, I have seen with my own eyes the precise extent that Marxism destroys, demolishes, ravages, and stultifies every aspect of human society. Anyone who states anything along the lines that there is "nothing inherently wrong with Marxism anyway" has obviously gained their knowledge of Marxism from one of the many outrageous propaganda books written by leftist lunatics. Your "proto-sociology, an analysis of capitalism" has devastated the lives of generations of individuals in scores of nations around the world.
My dear Whitstable Views: I trust you are an intelligent individual and of course with the utmost respect, I state that you are in dire need of educating yourself on the subject of the true nature of Communism. I maintain you cannot possibly hold your opinion on Marxism without betraying a fundamental ignorance of the subject.
As for your "democratic election" point: Chavez was democratically elected because at the time no one knew he was a Communist. By the time 97% of the population found out, it was way too late and he was tearing up the Constitution and turning the previously free country into a Marxist nation. My point that the United States voters have been TRICKED in exactly the same manner absolutely stands.
"and has the right to institute whatever policies he thinks are right."
No, actually, he doesn't. Our Constitution specifies a Republic as our form of government. Unless you want to throw out the Constitution, Obama has no "right" to institute Marxism, or any other form of government. But he and the power-mad leftists in Washington have run amok - so there is no one in Washington to stop them - unless we pull ourselves together and demand our rights as guaranteed to us by the Constitution.
I think this growing awareness of Obama's true nature is crucial to our survival as a Free Republic.
Madame X: Absolutely right. Again, I ask all readers to carefully review how Hugo Chavez gained power and the steps he took to turn Venezuela into a Marxist country. Chavez is well known for holding up the Constitution in his endless TV addresses (which last hours at a time) while his policies totally ignore it to achieve his own nefarious ends. Chavez loses referendums then legislates those same measures into effect by dictum. AND NO ONE STOPS HIM. Why? Because once Communists seize power it takes a massive popular uprising to remove them.
IMHO, any American who sits idly by while the Constitution is shredded is not worthy of being called an American, but a traitor. Each and every American must stand up by every legal, ethical, and constitutional means available and as you have so well stated:
"demand our rights as guaranteed to us by the Constitution."
BEFORE
IT
IS
TOO
LATE
!!!
You know, Hal, on several points I definitely agree with, particularly with protecting our constitution. But I feel that I'm generally aware of the politics around me and I feel as though the constitution is finally (albeit slowly) recovering from the thrashing it received from the last administration.
What bothers me with your argumentation is this bit in particular: "I maintain you cannot possibly hold your opinion on Marxism without betraying a fundamental ignorance of the subject." That sentence precludes any argument that supports any Marxist view. But other then your own anecdotal evidence you haven't given us any reason to believe that Marxism is INHERANTLY bad. Surely capitalism has left just as many dead as communism, it's foolish to blame ideals when it's people making decisions.
FreshtoDeath, I appreciate your comments and your measured tone. I have to defend my position which as you have noted can be summarized quite accurately as it: "precludes any argument that supports any Marxist view."
That is quite correct. I can even agree with the hypothesis that neither capitalism nor Marxism has its hands clean of blood. That is human nature, not purely of an ideological cause. Let's discuss why Marxism IS inherently bad.
Fact #1: Every country that has ever adopted Marxism / Communism / etc. has seen a drastic fall in every single indicator of quality of life, whether it be economic vitality, personal prosperity, environmental health, etc. etc. etc.
Fact #2 (could be #1A): Every country which has experienced Marxism and then returned to Capitalism has been stunted and found itself decades behind its Capitalist neighbors in every possible measurable economic standard.
Fact #3: The number of refugees from Marxist countries to Capitalist countries has always been several orders of magnitude greater than the reverse flow.
Fact #4: The slightest freedom of expression or disagreement with the regime will get you imprisoned or executed.
Fact #5: There has never been democracy of any kind in Marxist countries. It is Marxism's greatest lie. The very ideology which is supposed to empower the masses is the one which unanimously and universally is implemented as totalitarianism.
Therefore my friend, Marxism is not just inherently bad, it is the number one absolutely and indisputably destructive, emasculating, tyrannical, and devastating ideology on Earth today.
And anyone who argues in favor of Marxism will be termed an deluded ignoramus by me, as long as I have breath in my body.
That's what I have to say about that! :)
"Surely capitalism has left just as many dead as communism".
100 million dead on the communism side in the 20th century alone.
Capitalism? - maybe a few 100.
You're absolutely correct on the number of communist dead and the figures on the capitalist side are a bit more difficult to determine. Was the Iraq War a capitalist or pre-emptive terrorism war? It's certainly open to debate with good points on both sides of the argument.
"Capitalism? - maybe a few 100."
We wish.
I appreciate your long and well thought-out post, Hal. I don't consider myself Marxist (although hilariously enough I have been called a Marxist on this board in my five short days of being here) but I don't think the theory or philosophy behind Marxism is bad or destructive by itself. But predictions and reality never do match up.
Even if you are right ,who do you suppose should be president ?
Would we be better off having another civil war?
FreshtoDeath: Thanks for your continued measured comments. The theory behind Marxism is Utopian and thus no more implementable in the real world than any other of its ilk.
someonewhoknows: The solution IMHO is:

:)
Thank you.
Hal,the man was investigated up the yee-yang during the election process, don't you think this would have come out? Everything possible was thrown at him AND HE CAME OUT SMELLING LIKE A ROSE. He won,let it go dude.
Ellie Perry, it's my pleasure to open eyes to what is really going on in the White House.
Mercyalone, Communism isn't a growth that can be detected with an MRI. Investigations mean nothing as they cannot predict the actions that will be taken when an individual takes office. And in the case of Mr. Obama, he certainly managed to hoodwink America and the world. He may smell like a rose because that flower is the international symbol of socialism. Simply winning an election does not automatically translate to a benefit to the nation. Look at Hugo Chavez. So I'll let it go when they drag my cold, dead fingers from my keyboard. :)
The thing with two party politics is that sometimes people get elected for not being the other guy as much as for what they actualy stand for. I think a lot of people may be suprised by what they have actually voted for as time passes.
Also, its funny that Europe and America seem to be moving in oposite directions towards the same place. Europe is usually more socialist than the US and European socialists expected that the economic crises and the perceived success (or at least necessity) of traditionally socialist methods such as nationalisation would work in their favour, but in recent elections for the European parliament there were massive losses for 'center left' socialist parties and a huge shift to the right, whilst America seems to have taken a similar sized jump in the opposite direction. Even still, the two seemed to have landed in almost the same place. Funny how the world works.
I agree with Whitstable.
Also, I think this kind of exteme talk whips up all the worst elements of American society. We've had two murders in as many weeks by zealots of the extreme right.
Hal, don't you live in Canada?
kephrira: I truly pray to all the deities of all the people of the United States of America that your wise statement of "a lot of people may be suprised by what they have actually voted for as time passes" does not turn out to be the epitaph of that great nation. I can also only pray that Americans can learn from Europeans' retreat from their dalliance with the left and their realization that the socialist ideology is deceitful and delusional.
pgrundy: You are well aware of the respect I have for your writing and your steadfast commitment to this platform, however, with great humility, I must challenge your agreement with Whitstable Views. I have never advocated violence against anyone and have also gone on record on at least three occasions as to my belief that Obama is a wonderful man, and one I would love to get to know personally. He would be a fascinating university professor, bestselling writer, or even political analyst or talk show host. However, he may not just go down in history as the worst President in the history of the nation, but as the one who actually demolished the essence of the country itself. There is no atom in my being which can possibly condone what he has done and is continuing to do to the United States of America. I have outlined in this series of Hubs his blatantly Communist actions and background. Yes, I am of course Canadian, yet I believe that nationality provides me with even greater credibility in my challenges to Obama's Marxism as I can not be accused of being a partisan of either American party.
I continue and amplify my call to all Americans of good will and common sense who are patriots and who believe in liberty and the magnificent philosophical foundations of the American Way that they move with all due haste in the most strictly legal, ethical, moral, and democratic manner possible to push for an immediate impeachment of Mr. Barack Hussein Obama. Once he is removed from office, by all means he should have the right to the utmost respect from the general public for his accomplishments and go on to be extremely successful in another endeavor: Any other endeavor. Anything that does not place his hands on the levers of power in the Collectivization of the United States of America. That must never happen. Ever.
I don't see what the actions of those around Obama have anything to do with him. You make reference to his parents, grandparents, brother, etc.... What does that have to do with him?
If your brother, sister, uncle, cousin, etc..., commits a crime, does that make YOU a criminal? Just the same, if your brother, sister, uncle, cousin, etc... decide to convert to Islam, does that make YOU Islamic as well?
The reasoning here seems to be flawed and I don't think the actions of those people prove anything with respect to Obama. It certainly wouldn't hold up in a court of law here in America. I'm not familiar with your Canadian courts, so maybe it would hold up there.
Lots of arguments are being raised through all sorts of media, yet I have yet to see one piece of concrete evidence. All I see are a bunch of theories and analogies.
Ms._Info: I lived for a total of a couple of years in Venezuela and former Iron Curtain countries. In all that time, I never met anyone... anyone at all... who claimed to be a Communist. It is completely unbelievable to me that anyone growing up in the American Heartland would be surrounded by acknowledged "out of the closet" Communists of every stripe throughout their family relations and their chosen associations of friendship and colleagues. I am certainly not claiming that Mr. Obama is guilty only by association, all we have to do is review some of my other Hubs on the subject to prove that he has lurched the USA to Marxist policies in less than six months in office. I also believe your "one piece of concrete evidence" is foolish, myopic, and ridiculous. There are twenty hard pieces of concrete evidence in the Hub above your comment, and if you want to argue that the Collectivization of the United States' manufacturing and financial sectors has not begun in earnest, then you must be living in a cave... or be a Communist apologist.
Hal...
What a great hub. You hit all the correct points right on the head. Can you believe people just looked over all these facts and STILL voted for him? Obama-voters really need to have their heads examined after that call. You have taught me many things about how close Obama is to socialism.
During the election, I bought a yard sign that had the communist symbol with NoBama on it. I laughed every time I saw that thing in our yard.
Thanks for all the awesome accurate info! Please keep writing hubs like this so people will see the REAL obama.
--John
Thank you very much for the kind words and the support. It is quite heartening to learn that there are other individuals who see the truth so clearly! :)
And I see it VERY clearly :)
johnb0127 then you owe it to your country and your fellow American citizens to become proactively involved in opening as many of their eyes as is possible in order to save your great nation from the greatest domestic peril it has faced since the Civil War. I am open and willing to do anything I can do from my end to support your efforts, and the efforts of enlightened Americans to stop this Communist menace.
stop playing their game...you're not going to change anyone's mind anyway.
Thanks Hal! Dont listen to TurnipTornado. She dont know what shes talkin about
When your first point is an out of context clip...
Good lord, #16? If I speak an eulogy for a homosexual...That's proof I'm a homosexual? What kind of logic is that dude? Is it logic?!
I'm going to listen to johnb0127 over Turniptornado. As for krainbolt-greene, please note that any one of these points is a coincidence; any three is a weird concurrence; even any ten are debatable; and let's even go as far as stating that all twenty are still not conclusive evidence of Marxism... but when you factor in the strictly and purely Communist policies implemented in the last six months, it's an open and shut case: And anyone who believes otherwise is a fool. If you believe that Obama is just another centrist politician and not a dyed in the wool Socialist / Communist / Marxist, then you're a fool too.
Hal good information, however; you're alittle late. Back when we were deregulating, outsourcing and exercising our rights to make money at any cost. Not investing in the future of the largest portion of our sociaty, the middle class, but trying accumulate all the toys we would need to make us happy. Oh its our right, but for sound growth you have to build a sound foundation. Henry Ford saw how its supposed to work. You make sure the little guys are making a living wage so they can buy the goods and services that keep U.S. moving, and growing.
We lost the middle class due to arrogance. They should be happy they have a job! Heres a good one, Theres alot of people out there that would be happy to have that job! Here you go, we take all the risk and the profit is our reward! I think a couple more carrats would have done trick and the worker bees would have been salivating. They live secure lives and they're in our pocket..
We had all the power! All we had to do was put alittle more in the kitty and we and the party would have owned the middle class vote. I guess exercising your rights was more important than the lives of those who believe in you as the leader. The one point that is allways overlooked is the life, the time here on earth sold for some small piece of security. So we, earned the right, to use them to aquire the things we needed and deserved. Hows that working for us?
Lets take a look at our southern neighbor. Hmm, hugh gaps in the standard of living works so well! You have to give back!. As a person you should offer a hand up not out. We have to help all Americans get the piece of the pie they've earned. Large gaps in standard of living doesn't have a good track record on this planet in general.
So, now we have a situation where left wing ideas sound better right wing ideas. We have a more liberal party in power. We also only have ourselves to blame. We didn't get it right. They wanted it worse. We knew this is what could happen, but we were blinded by our desire to horde. The best idea now is to learn how to work together and help the left understand how much some issues mean and hope that gets some traction.
Communist or not we made our bed now we need to have enough courage to lay in it. Our problems are our problems not the liberals. We lost! We screwed up! Hal lets take the hit and show what kind of stuff we're made of! Lets don't make the same mistake over and over again. When you have to tear someone down to make you look good you're a loser.
You make some excellent points, and I'm certainly not going to argue the point that the mindless kneejerk insatiable consumerism of the past few decades got us in the mess we're in... but for all the reasons outlined in this series of American Communism Hubs, there can be no justification to sell our souls to the Marxist devils and go down the dead end road of every country from Russia to Albania in a misguided attempt to keep our economic boat afloat. Since the Industrial Revolution (or even from the invention of the modern economic system by the Medicis) here has only ever been one economic ideology that guarantees general prosperity to the people, and that is FREE ENTERPRISE. Where we failed was not in the implementation of free enterprise, but in failing to enforce the financial oversight laws which were on the books. The laws were there, and they were clear. If a bunch of lazy butt bureaucrats were incapable or unwilling to enforce them, that does not mean that capitalism has failed, it means that there was a gaggle of overpaid and underworking bozos in Washington and New York who were far more interested in sucking off the public teat than they were in doing their job. And now we all are paying the price.
Very interesting information. If it is true it is worrysome. Once we are no longer a "free country" only a civil war will get our individule rights of ownership back. I hate to see that happen. But I have a feeling it will, either in mine, or my children's life time.
Live in peace and create do your bit to live in a better world. Fear is not the way to go.
Proverbs 9
Invitations of Wisdom and of Folly
1 Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn out its seven pillars.
2 She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine; she has also set her table.
3 She has sent out her maids, and she calls from the highest point of the city.
4 "Let all who are simple come in here!" she says to those who lack judgment.
5 "Come, eat my food and drink the wine I have mixed.
6 Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of understanding.
7 "Whoever corrects a mocker invites insult; whoever rebukes a wicked man incurs abuse.
8 Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you; rebuke a wise man and he will love you.
9 Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man and he will add to his learning.
10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
11 For through me your days will be many, and years will be added to your life.
12 If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer."
13 The woman Folly is loud; she is undisciplined and without knowledge.
14 She sits at the door of her house, on a seat at the highest point of the city,
15 calling out to those who pass by, who go straight on their way.
16 "Let all who are simple come in here!" she says to those who lack judgment.
17 "Stolen water is sweet; food eaten in secret is delicious!"
18 But little do they know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of the grave.
If financiers didn't routinely screw up though infantile greed and stupidity governments wouldn't be obliged to step in and wipe their bottoms.
I think that there should be a clarification of terms. Capitalism is an economic system in which trade and industry are privately controlled for profit rather than by the state. Democracy is a political system. Claiming that capitalism has killed anyone is a non sequitur. The Chinese are a Marxist nation yet they allow some practices of capitalism in their economy. And some European countries are Socialist Democracies.
Marxism is the political philosophy and practice derived from the works of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. Socialism is, according to Marx, the stage between capitalism and communism during which the classes will disappear.
It should be understood that Karl Marx was reacting more against the disparity in the class system more than he was against a healthy capitalism. He thought he had a better way, but as history has shown, he didn't.
Individuals who argue for a socialist economy will not find any historic evidence to support their cause. The only defense they have is willful ignorance or a naive notion that Obama will get it right this time because he is Obama. Our ignorance is killing the greatest social experiment in the history of the world: The United States of America.
I would add that public education in the hands of progressives has wrought its ugly work and delivered us a nation of ignorance.
Kebennett1: It is worrysome as each and every one of those 20 events are not fiction: Each has been verified by the public media. I pray that we can resolve these issues without having to resort to violence and wars, but given human history, that hope does seem feeble.
fran001: Thanks for the scripture dump, but is it relevant to what we're discussing?
Tired of Rants: Financiers are greedy! Wow! What a concept. So let me get this straight: You think that there can be a system which exclusively rewards the accumulation of money and then you expect the participants in that system to not participate in the accumulation of said money through their own altruism? DUH! The laws on the books were 100% capable of restraining this disaster through doing what governments should do: regulate and enforce legislation. If the bureaucrats had actually regulated and enforced the legislation in place, we would never have slid down so far.
The Capitalist: BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO!
LOZL!
I'm so glad I amuse! :)
I have never supported anything other than America and American ideals. I'm not very bright but it seems if you put the money in the pockets of the largest consuming group in America only good things can happen. I'm the last person who wants the government to interfere with our economy. Free enterprise will take care of itself without any help either way from government.
This is where points diverge, its not communism to protect American jobs. Making our trading partners play on a level playing field is not communism. Moral behavior isn't a sign communism is about to explode all over America either. I had once heard that a CEO shouldn't make more than 25 times his lowest employee. That doesn't mean he or she has a limit on earnings, it does mean they should share the wealth with the people who give them their lives to help make them successful. Sure its thier risk and profit is thier reward but I think theres a moral high ground some where here that doesn't warrant being called communism or socialism.
I've seen too many wealthy owners with numerous homes, fancy cars, and outrageous vacations with employees who live hand to mouth. These employees are for the most part one check from living under a bridge. Its inspiring to see those rare occaisions when a wealthy buisnessman shares some of his gold with the people who gave their loyalty so they could succeed. Most of the workerbees only dream of a windfall to clear up debt or afford a surgery.
Nothing I've said promotes everybody gets the same, it does promote moral behavior over greed. Nothing I've said calls for government interferance. As this last election is proof positive if you take advantage of the ones with the least you can't expect them to say thank you give me more of the same please..
I think this is a great forum for thought. Keep writing its great to hear everyones thoughts. Peace.
sneakorocksolid: Thank you for your comments and I completely disagree that you're "not very bright" as you have made your points very well. We have to look at the history of imposing salary ceilings or "rich taxes." In the 60s Britain imposed a 100% tax over a certain level of income. Guess what happened? All the rich people LEFT THE COUNTRY and the nation fell into a recession that lasted a decade and stunted economic growth and prosperity for almost an entire generation. The answer is not to FORCE capitalists to "share" but to ENCOURAGE capitalists to apply their capital to creating work! That can be done via a wide variety of completely legal, constitutional, and NON-MARXIST legislation and tax incentives which the US government has not begun to examine in OBAMA'S RUSH TO COMMUNISM.
Personally?...I am a "survivalist." Regardless of political movement or regime change, I am responsible to me and mine for our survival. Selfish? You bet! You and I only get one chance at life. My attitude is: adapt and stick around for as long as my genetic programming will allow. Those of us who understand this, may add a few more years of precious life to our ephemeral existence. Socialism? Communism? Theocracy? I cant waste valuable time and emotion worrying about that which I have no control over. The "intelligent" attitude is to accept and adapt. You are the "Captain of your ship." You are responsible for your life. No one else gives a damn! Eternity is a very long time.
Very well said, qwark, and it is a sentiment that I share. I have been keeping a very close eye on the accelerating decay of the world and also have left myself open to "survivalist" options. If humanity truly turns on itself, I plan to be in an incredibly remote mountain cabin roasting a squirrel and watching the sunset. :)
..big smile...:-) amen to that Hal!!!
I'll catch an extra plump squirrel and save it for you! :)
Hal,
You've earned my respect here for a number of reasons
1. You dared write a challenging article about Obama - the same type of article about Bush would be applauded (even though I thought Bush's presidency was extremely flawed - He started these crazy handouts)
2. You answer some of the most ridiculous comments with an even temper and with great knowledge on the subject you are talking
3. You admit, as I do that you think Obama is a very nice person "on a personal level" but a horrible president (as I think he is)
I would like to comment on some of the more outlandish responses listed above.
WhitstableViews said "Cheap trick Hal, but now go back to my previous point. Is he or is he not democratically elected? (Unlike the previous incumbant, you might say.) "
My RESPONSE: - Even if you think that there was tampering during either of the Bush elections, there is absolutely no proof whatsoever. On the other hand, it is a proven fact that there was indeed bullying during both the primary process against Clinton, and the presidential election process by members of ACORN (a very strong Obama leaning organization)
SEE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkUKOSnv2zY
In response to Obama's Marxist views Mercyalone said - "Hal,the man was investigated up the yee-yang during the election process, don't you think this would have come out?"
My RESPONSE: WHERE AND WHEN WAS HE INVESTIGATED???? Certainly not by the media who to this day is bowing down to him and worshipping him and reporting nothing that is negative(with the exception of FOX news and CNBC)
He also was NEVER and will NEVER be investigated by Congress who is totally in bed with him and his views.
My opinion is there are no more checks and balances in government, because of the government and the media.
If you'd like to see where we are headed with a government that continuously spends in the middle of a recession watch the following video from Great Britain:
A MUST SEE

hglick: Thank you very much for the compliments. Much appreciated. I have gone on record on several occasions as stating that Bush was the worst president in history B.O. (Before Obama). I am in no way exonerating W. as I am still not 100% convinced that there wasn't some element of foreknowledge (note that I'm not going as far as stating complicity) in 9/11, his wars have been unmitigated disasters, and since the Buck Stopped There, he was the one who was asleep at the wheel while the country's financial system was falling off the tracks. Having said that, at least I can state that Bush was committed (as far as his limited intellect and education allowed him) to free enterprise and I would always choose a dunce bozo right winger over a Commie.
Obama's a great guy! He's funny, witty, intelligent, well-read, and has unerring aim in killing pesky flies. :) The only beef I have with him is his ideology which should have been left on the scrap heap of history the day the Berlin Wall fell.
I agree fully with your reply to WhitstableViews and Mercyalone. As you have so wisely stated, Obama has not been investigated to any extent by anyone. The government background vetting that Obama received is the same that any public official has to pass. Basically all it amounts to is confirming that there are no felony convictions in the past. There is no ideological or psychological vetting process.
I also agree completely that Keynes is spinning in his grave as it was never his thesis that governments should megaspend out of a massive recession/depression. Keynes advocated very minor deficits. The USA is now facing a deficit of almost $15 trillion and it's going up billions a day. Keep in mind that statistic that Obama in six months has added more to the deficit than in the entire history of the USA since 1776 IN TOTAL. The future generations of American have been irrevocably impoverished by this President in six months. May all of our relative deities save us from his next 42 months!
Thanks for information
You're very welcome! :)
How come so many people think being president is like being king? Obama only does what he is told ... he is the "tool" of bankers - watch the "Obama Deception". He is as much a communist as I am a frog. I wish he was! No deal though, he is a puppet like the rest of the presidents.
OK, so I guess I have to speak in your language: Ribet, ribet... :)
Hey Hal, Good job! I'm sorry I missed all the action. Thanks for speaking out you have my respect for being so even-handed. Thanks we need more friends like you.
Hey, thanks! I appreciate it. I think that "the action" is just starting as Mr. Obama is continuing to go off into Marxist La La Land... :)
Just reading through most of the comments and the hub I am amazed that none of you realise that Obama is the puppet president for others who really reign over the country.
The US, UK, Australia etc are all corporate companies and have been since before the last war. All of them were bankrupt and are run as corporate companies. This truth has been out for the last few years and people have woken upto the fact that the illusion covers all of the government power and beyond.
All of you are just rallying around the arguments that keep you from waking up to the real truth. It does not matter who is in government - its all a game - the real power house comes from the old banking families who formed the illuminati a long time ago.
If you want to wake up and take back your sovereignty as equal human beings then you will need to stop the arguments about maxism or capitalism and start researching some of the true facts. All of the information you need is available if you put in some effort and come out of the anaethatised state. The only reason we still live in a completely unequal world is because of people still stuck in this illusion. You are the sheep, it doesnt matter whether you are maxist sheep, capitalist sheep or communist sheep. Sheep are sheep following the game.
There is a renaissance going on which will create the new world where everyone is free. The most dangerous thing going on right now is by those who think they are free when they are not - they are in the game.
We are moving towards the most chaotic period of life on this planet and you dont even know it is happening! Check out all the underground areas, well over 130, which are ready for the events that Nasa are hiding from you.
But never mind, you guys just keep on debating the players in their game, good luck............
Namaste
The article about the Marxist Communist administration we have getting stronger every day is relevant. However, the areas that have not yet been attacked have been religion and gun ownership . I would think they would be areas where these people who are determined to destroy our way of life would be moving faster at eliminating. Please explain why they are afraid to approach this. They have done everything else to move their program along swiftly. There is no way either Marxists or Communistsd can tolerate religion and it matters not which brand of religion we are speaking of so diversity in religious choice has no place in their modus of operandi. They are the Proletariat, government is their God. They have taken over our car companies, banks, and the public schools and colleges have been corrupted by their ideology for years. Why don't the churches scare them?
Universal Laws: The puppet president myth got old with LBJ... or maybe even George Washington. As is the NASA is keeping secrets thing. NASA these days doesn't have enough money in its budget to keep the coffee perking, let alone massive secrets in 130 underground areas filled with little green skeletons.
elizabeth white: Thank you for your comment. Marxists have usually squashed religious freedom but they only do that in advanced stages of power consolidation. The particular Marxist in the White House hasn't quite reached that stage yet, and we had all better PRAY that he is impeached well before then!
Yes Nasa has used a lot of resources most of which you have no idea about. The black ops continue whilst you continue a very old illusionary argument. Men have died already exposing the 130 underground areas. The guy who invented the machine which liquifies rock and glasses it over as it ploughs through the earth was one of them. Before it died from a mysterious suicide that nobody believes he had already left lectures on what is happening at these survival bases. You disgrace his name and his sacrifice and the sacrifice of many more who have died in order to expose these truths by your denial when you have carried out no verifying research.
Carry on regardless and never complain when Planet Nibiru gets closer, it will not hit Planet earth but it will cause havoc with its interaction on an energetic level with the sun - this is why Nasa has used much larger sums of money than are listed in their public accounts. They have a very powerful telescope in the Antartic watching Nibiru very closely as it has an unstable 3,600 eliptic orbit. All of this science is available but as usual a lot of people prefer to be victims and are still very much asleep.
The underground complexes are nothing to do with area 51 etc. These are survival areas for the elite and the chosen people of child bearing age who will restock the population after the devastation of Planet Nibiru during the next 5 years. It is already visible in the sky, coming up under the sun in the southern hemisphere.
Will you awaken or stay asleep in your political arguments.

Oh my gawd, Universal Laws. You're in dire need of psychiatric attention. The planet Nibiru! Oh fer cryin' out loud...
Oh, my gawd, Hal Licino. You're in dire need of waking up before its too late. Marxist and communists oh fer cryin' out loud.......
Just the difference between reality and victim consciousness.
Namaste
My dear U.L....
Did you ever stop to consider that what you claim to be astrophysical "reality" is agreed to only by one drunk in an alley in the Bronx and one New Age crystal seller in Santa Monica who did too much LSD in college?
Er... unless you're the lady in Santa Monica... :)
hal,
communism was meant for the good of all- it was to keep the rich from being too rich and the poor from being poor. its purpose was to create a society where people live together in unity and equality. communism's name was slathered in dirt when leaders used it as an excuse to establish their empires. Maybe if you read some of marx's works you would understand. Americans are practically bred to shy away from the word communism and socialism, when they haven't even grasped the basic concepts of it. obama's bills are focused on helping the working class and the poor. you say he is a socialist, but can't people like you try to be a little more open-minded to these ideals? he isn't trying to rule the world (pfffft*). He's just trying to make it a better place for the peope who need help to live.
I can do my commenting by copy and paste. I've just answered on
http://hubpages.com/hub/Top-7-Marxist-Communist-Po
...and it also applies to you:
Sir, you are utterly deluded and profoundly ignorant. The Marx you read must have been Groucho. You don't know the difference between Das Kapital and Duck Soup. So over 100 million Americans are wrong and you're right? Can you please give me the name of your shrink? I want to report him to the American Psychiatric Society. :)
http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/829543 Vol. 2 The Theory of Obamativity
http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/815588 Vol. 1 The Common Man Opinion
In my two volume set, with six more volumes on the way, I outline the Theory of Obamativity. While the U.S. is looking at individual trees like Cap and tax and Health Care Tax, they are missing the forest standing there. Obama, and his radicals surrounding him, have 12 points of seizure. Through out history, other countries governments followed these same 12 points of seizure to wipe out personal freedoms and liberties thus bringing CHANGE to the social and political operations of said country. Read it and you will have to agree with what is happening.
I've outlined 7 in my:
http://hubpages.com/hub/Top-7-Marxist-Communist-Po
and I'm glad to see you have 12. It all goes to prove the point that impeachment must be implemented as soon as possible!
Bravo, Hal! Very well researched. One of your previous critics ( Whitstable Views ) admonishes us that Mr. Obama was democratically elected and, therefore, has the authority and right to set forth his agenda. Using that logic alone, one can note that Adolf Hitler ( a National Socialist ) was the victor of a democratic election in Germany in 1933 and, consequently, had the authority and prerogative of putting forth his policies.
2012 can't get here fast enough! You have it right Obama is a Marxist and a socialist!
Thank you for the support. Now go out there and let your voice be heard. Impeachment Now!
This hub should have been entitled "Guilt By Association". That would certainly seem more appropriate, as you didn't state anything Obama did, but rather all the things that some of the people he knew, might have called friends, or was related to did. Hmmm, his parents met in a Russian language class. Very fishy, I do admit. This would certainly make the unconceived Obama GUILTY! And we won't even go into why his GRANDPARENTS moved...as that could be really telling of Obama's character and hidden agenda!
You and I are on the same page. Keep Hubbing!
Patrice52: I have stated in other Hubs as well that any one or two or three of these "coincidences" would have been "coincidences." TWENTY IS NOT! If you had 20 "coincidences" with members of Al Qaeda, you'd be on the FBI Most Wanted List, "coincidences" or "circumstantial evidence" aside. ARE YOU THAT BLIND?
jiberish: THANK YOU! Keep on being heard!
I'm not blind at all, but perhaps you are blinded by your hatred. Of course, his background is going to give him an interest in many different countries and their governments. This would not be surprising at all. However, his interest in becoming educated in all forms of government, would not make him a communist, socialist, marxist, OR capitalist.
In fact, I voted for Obama, and as I have stated in previous comments, my disappointment in him so far is that he acting more like a Republican than a Democrat in many ways, as in not tackling big money and its control of our government. Capitalism is a GOOD THING. However, as before the depression, greed has taken over once again and run things completely into the ground. After the depression there were a lot of needed regulations put into effect. Then, mostly conserative administrations in the last few decades have spent a lot of time deregulating. Unfortunately, because big business cannot control themselves and their greed, once again it appears that we do need more regulations put back into effect.
I'm so sorry that up there in Canada this seems to be upsetting you so much.
What hatred and what the hell are you talking about? Your problem is that you don't read and/or comprehend properly. Please check all the Obama Marxist Hubs and note that on several occasions I've stated that he's a really great guy, just the worst President in the history of the country. Then you state that he's acting like a Republican. Do you have the SLIGHTEST idea what a Republican is and what the fiscal policies of the GOP are and have been for decades? Patrice, you obviously know as much about politics as I do about sapient life forms on Titan. Do yourself AND ME a favor and go get educated before you open your trap again, spew stupidities and embarrass yourself any more.
You know, I'm aware of the Republican and Democrat agendas. I am an independent. The behavior I'm worried about is the ONE that got us into this mess. That is catering to big money and big business and no regulations that allow banks to do ANYTHING they want whether it is morally or ethically correct. The abortion issue, which is clearly a Democratic issue, is one I disagree with. Yes, health care reform is clearly a Democratic issue, which I do agree with. If we don't stop big money from buying the government, however, something the Republicans, as a rule, have been so supportive of, we are never going to save our country. The hope with Obama was that he would stand up for the working class. I still hope he will, and yes there have been signs of this, as in the credit card holder's bill of rights and health care reform. So maybe I am speaking too soon and want too much too fast.
You do appear to be filled with a lot of anger and hatred. And, no, I don't know why. I suggest that you take a hard look at yourself and your motives before you embarrass YOURSELF any more with your rude and borish behavior. Obama took over a horrific mess in our country, has been in office less than a year, and yet you state he's the worse president ever. I'm surprised that you think he is a "nice guy", as I suppose, according to you, that would make you a Communist sympathizer.
Once again, I'm sorry that all this seems to be upsetting you so much up there in Canada.
Patrice, you're incoherent, and I'm starting to believe, naive, pollyannish and staggeringly uninformed. Your statement about the GOP supporting "big money buying the government" is baseless and profoundly absurd. Where do you get this information or do you just make it up because you think it sounds good? How can you be so blind, deaf and dumb to not be able to comprehend simple statistics about the spending of countless trillions of dollars in nine months! Who do you think is going to pay for all that? The tooth fairy? In less than a year Obama has set the USA into a horrific debt that it can never repay. And puh-leez do me a favor and stop trying to psychoanalyze me. The only anger I have is at how my friends the Americans got DUPED by this Commie. As for the rest of your blather, it's definitely "borish"-ing and so are you! :)
I'm sorry, but this is still childish and rude behavior. You might want to check out some other hubs where people manage to disagree with each other while sticking to the issues, and not resorting to name calling.
By the way no one is l00% right (YES, INCLUDING YOU), neither are they l00% wrong, and it's very possible to have a real conversation, without the type of behavior you exhibit.
Don't like my replies, stop reading this Hub. I am more than happy to engage in a real conversation but only with individuals who have a clue, not ones who make completely outrageous, outlandish, baseless, and wholly made up "factoids" in a pathetic attempt to support their misbegotten convictions. And that means you.
ON THIS SUBJECT I am 100% right. Live with it, wake up, smell the commie coffee, and act to save your country. Don't sit around watching your nation go down the drain and waiting for a Canadian to open your eyes.
I guess it depends on which side of the fence you're sitting on, because "individuals who make completely outrageous, outlandish, baseless, and wholly made up "factoids" in a pathetic attempt to support their misbegotton convictions" is EXACTLY how I would have described you. Thanks for putting it into words for me. I might have struggled with that. My IQ was only measured at l45. I'm sure yours is much higher since you love calling other people stupid. Thanks for the other suggestion that I might have been too stupid to think of. I believe I WILL stop reading your hubs, and instead search for some with real information and ideas on how to fix our countries problems.
Goodbye. Don't let the door hit you on the butt on your way out. And take your spur of the moment "let's make up something and claim it as fact" with you! Sheesh! Some people!
Patrice is right. You're attacking the people instead of the points. It's impossible to argue with you without recieving some insulting comment. Very mature Hal. People would be wasting their time arguing with you not because they're right, but because you're too hard-headed and stubborn to see the truth. :)
Ya, just like the American people were hard-headed and stubborn in seeing the truth in yesterday's elections where they threw as many Donkeycrats out of office as possible? You pinkos are all the same. You keep skewing facts and making outlandish self-serving and profoundly corrupt statements with a straight face. I will hand it to you socialists. You certainly have the act down! After all, you've been practicing it since my great-grandfather was bailing Lenin out of a hotel bill he couldn't pay... (BTW, THAT IS A TRUE STORY).
Unknown, do us all a favor. Pull your head out of your rectum, help Patrice do the same, then take a look around you, and see that THE GREAT WISDOM OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS PREVAIL, AND YOUR SOCIALIST FRIENDS WILL SOON BE CAST ON THE TRASH HEAP OF HISTORY ALONG WITH STALIN, MAO, HOXHA, GULAGS, THE BERLIN WALL, AND THE REST OF YOUR UNSPEAKABLE TREASONS, DERELICTIONS OF DUTY AND CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY.
Hal, I'm sorry, but I have to be honest; if it weren't for the fact that I know communism and Marxism will never work the way they were originally designed to, I'd be all for it.
Look at the original intent of Marxism, the very thoughts Karl Marx had in coming up with the Communist Manifesto. It was all Utopian dream-theories, which aren't bad. Anyone who can say Utopia would be a bad thing needs to open their eyes to what Utopia means, and the state of the world in which we live in now. I think I'd rather have world peace and a classless society than the shit we're stuck with now.
The problem with being Marxist or Communist now stems from two things: one, the given fact that those systems shall not, and never will, prevail in any society until society as a whole can get over their greed and need for things like trophies and medals and awards; and two, the other given fact that because of what happened in Russia and with the USSR and the Cold War, people will never be able to trust anything stamped with the word COMMUNISM in big, red letters.
In essence, people need to learn how to get over themselves before anything remotely close to communism will ever work the way it was originally intended to; and that intention, Hal my dear, was for Utopia for the proletariat.
*bows* See, 19 year olds CAN be smart sometimes! ^_^
Kika! Where do you hide for months at a time? Anyway, welcome back. Hey, I never said you weren't smart! I agree with you fully on the fact that Marxism works great... but only on paper! :)
