Simon asks: Are there Topless Beaches in Hawaii? (post removed)

Yes there are, but according to the State of Hawaii and state park regulations, Nudity is Illegal on state beaches. That being said, there are several Hawaii Beaches that are known for being nude beaches, topless and clothing optional beaches.

On the Big Island of Hawaii:

Honokohau Harbor Beach

Kehena Beach (Dolphin Beach)

Steam Vents (located near Hilo)

On Kauia:

Donkey Beach

Secret Beach

On Maui:

Little Beach at Makena (Pu'u Ola'i Beach)

Red Sand Beach in Hana (Kaihalulu Beach)

Molokai and Oahu

The islands of Molokai and Oahu have no beaches which are unofficially designated as clothing-optional.

I won't get into this more on here, but you can go here and read more about it.

Pegasusteam, nice information on Hawaii. My wife and I fell in love with Hawaii on our honeymoon which is a big reason why I wrote the Hub about honeymooning/vacationing in Hawaii. What motivated you to write about Hawaii? Was it your wife?

Is this information still up to date with regulations after June 2009? I'm looking to arrange a cruise for my daughters birthday but don't want to get stuck on the island if the passport is necessary.

@Gloria,

Yes, the information is still up to date. Hawaii is a US state, so if you are a US citizen you do not need a passport to visit Hawaii.

mY FAMILY AND i ARE CONSIDERING A VACATION ON OAHU IN THE SPRING OF 2010. WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO DO AS MUCH RESEARCH AS POSSIBLE. WE CAME ACROSS A DISTURBING STORY FROM A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO ABOUT THE "BIG SPILL". IS THIS SITUATION STILL AN ISSUE AND HOW ARE THE BEACHES AND REEFS RECOVERING?

IMISSMO,

As disturbing as the "Big Spill" was, that was back in 2006 and is no longer an issue. The beaches and reefs are fine.

Come over and enjoy yourselves!
